A small cozy bistro that has an excellent brunch. The bistro is tastefully decorated, and the seats are well spaced out. The staff is attentive and friendly. Reservations are strongly recommended. We had the waffle, with pecans, pear, and cinnamon honey butter and Eggs Edinburgh. They were delicious and the portions just right. Te OJ was freshly squeezed, and the hot chocolate was a tad too sweet but chocolaty. Do note the very unusual opening hours. The bistro is opened on Thursday to Saturday from 5.30pm to 9pm and on Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

The 26 letters of the English language seem measly when trying to form any sentence adequate enough to express my true love for Allechant. I know that’s an outrageous statement, but everything this place offers—the incredible food, the amazing people and management, the wonderful atmosphere—makes it the best restaurant in Ithaca, bar-none.
My partner and I have probably been to Allechant 20+ times in the past two years, and it never disappoints. The brunch menu is full of fantastic staples and seasonal takes, the dinner menu is inventive and substantial, the desserts are to die for, and the serving sizes are perfect (you always feel satisfied, but rarely like you’ve over-eaten). Plus, the coffee and chai are among some of the best we’ve had locally, and the wine selection is solid, too.
Plus. (And a big plus here.) The workers are INCREDIBLE!!! Seeing Matt and Katie truly brightens our week whenever we come by. Wherever we go, Allechant will always be in our hearts, and we cannot recommend this place enough.
This charming little restaurant offers, hands down, the best brunch in Ithaca. Dinner is incredible, too, and I've had some of my top dining experiences in town here with friends drinking wine watching the setting summer sun. Like all things good and natural in this clime, Allechant changes as the seasons do, with the lovely evening outdoor patio experience giving way to the warmth of the hearth during winter months. If I had to pick its foremost defining feature, I'd wager that the hospitality - the welcoming care and attention to detail - Allechant's waitstaff and ever-present owner pay to each person's visit is the real treat here. Had an amazing time here! Enjoyed the eggs Edinburgh for myself and shared the sweet toast éclair with friends. Food tastes like it it made with high quality ingredients. Sat outside and enjoyed the lovely weather with my dog. Highly recommend coming here and making reservations in advance. Owner is incredibly kind and welcoming, servers are great too.
A fantastic little restaurant. The small kitchen puts out some amazing food. The poached eggs were perfect. The espresso was wonderful and had some nice dark chocolate flavors. The Belgian hot chocolate was the best I have had. Extremely dog friendly.

10/10 would recommend this place! There was a mix up with our reservation (on the part of our travel website, not the restaurant), but the hostess went out of her way to get us in, even so far as to run out to the car to flag us back into the restaurant. The owner was so nice and came out and apologized. The service was exceptional. The atmosphere was classy and the food was delicious. It’s definitely worth making a reservation for!
Within a matter of minutes, Allechant became our favorite restaurant in Ithaca. We were greeted by the owner, Reeve, who went out of his way to find us a table despite our lack of reservation. This was followed by a 20-minute get-to-know-you "interview" which was really delightful. The menu, comprised of about 10 gourmet dishes were so enticing, we could not decide what to order. I got the Eggs Edinborough (which is a salmon variation on Eggs Benedict), my daughter got the Lemon Souffle Pancakes. Both "Food Channel" quality dishes: unique, fresh, seasoned to perfection, beautifully plated, and delicious! The waitstaff was also remarkably friendly and helpful. We look forward to becoming regular customers, which will give us the opportunity to enjoy the other menu items.
What an amazing place. The ambiance was beautiful. The food was amazing. But the hospitality is what topped everything off. We were offered blankets if we got cold, they brought out a light when the sun started to set... Would highly recommend.

We were seated outside in the courtyard, appropriately distanced. The staff were friendly, and professional. They were masked and the tables were sanitized as soon as guests left the area.
