Patrick is the BEST! We stopped in for bait and he answered questions and gave us tips, since we had never fished in saltwater before. He told us about the class he holds on the beach every Thursday and Saturday from 10am-Noon where he teaches fishing skills and techniques and we came. His attitude is the best. He's so patient and does a great job of teaching. We learned how to hook and wrap live shrimp so we wouldn't lose the bait and he chummed the water so a lot of people caught a fish. We learned a lot and had a blast. And we also saw two manatee mamas and babies in Pelican Cove so that was a bonus!

Great people. Very friendly. Great prices Hooked my daughter up with everything she needed to start fishing. Walked out of there with a rod reel and extra hooks, and a bag of skittles for under $40 They host a fishing fun seminar on Thursdays for anyone that would like to learn fishing in the keys. Hands on fun. Wish I could give them 10 stars

Patrick’s the man! Set me up with everything I needed for cheap. When I came to return my stuff, he was out teaching kids how to fish! Recommend this place to anyone new looking to fish in the keys! Definitely coming back!

We participated in the Fish Like a Local program at Pelican Cove Resort our guide was Patrick and boy he was a riot! My husband and I had a BLAST fishing for 2 hours! Patrick was so attentive to each and every one of us. He kept bait on our hooks at all Times. He was very passionate and enthusiastic from the start. He is a total natural at this. I wasn’t sure what to expect but Patrick and his program exceeded my expectations! We had such a great time! My husband caught two fish so that was cool. I caught one but freaked out and it swam away. It was a great time and a very nice start to our great weekend! Thanks Patrick and keep up the great work!

Lynn was so helpful and gave amazing advice but the highlight was Patrick. This guy is the happiest friendliest person I've ever met. He gave a free fishing clinic and was extremely knowledgeable and gave great tips I used later, on my own. I just can't say enough nice things about this guy... Look at all the reviews. Patrick is simply the best. Took my kids down to fish with him on our last day on the island. Had them on fish within 10 min. So knowledgeable, so patient. Team Ok-ist has its go to place in Islamorada with Patrick & Abel's. See ya next year.

Best and friendliest bait shop experience ever! Patrick was super cool from the moment I walked through the door. He gave me a ton of tips on how to “fish like a local” and the inside of his store was impeccable. He also teaches a free “fish like a local” class which I am really looking forward to attending!! Highly recommend this place for all your fishing needs!
