Ask for the spicy seafood ramen! The seafood is fresh, real crab legs, mussels, jumbo shrimp and scallops. Broth was savory but not overlay salty. The noodles themselves were just ok but the broth and seafood made up for it. Gyoza dumplings were tasty too!
Great raman. We started it off w/ mushroom/shrimp tempura and we were full into the night. I had pork rib raman so tender, even the tendon is like gelatin. So much pork i could not eat it all! Milky smooth ramen broth, and lots of sturdy noodles. Wifey had spick pork ramen, with same nice broth. We were stuffed and food was good.
Came at 9pm so no wait, service was fast. And the mall it is in has nice afters too, as well as other Asian food choices if you change your ramen mind.
Busy. My favorite is the ajisen ramen. It is the least expensive ramen, and it has a simple and true taste. If you want more meat, go for the BBQ pork ramen which includes additional pieces. It's nice that everything on the menu has a picture. Go after 2pm to avoid the large lunch rush. Waiters/waitresses always do their best despite the sometimes grumpy customers. Oh! And the shaved ice at Ajisen is better than the one at Guppy House across the street. The fried chicken is satisfying, and the croquette with kupi mayonnaise is perfect!
Great food, fast service(once you are able to get seated and order). This is a very popular place, great location.. I agree with the previous blogger about the friendliness of the staff. Not the best customer service oriented people, but the food is so good, its not a determining factor. Its funny, I know exactly who the girl with the black glasses is, she reminded me of the lady character from "The Incredibles" with glasses. Anyhow, the food is great, reasonably priced, and those are the two factors that keep me coming back. I love the beef ramen. I will continue going to this place.
Better than Santouka. Other than the fact that the ramen Ajisen makes is probably way different than authentic Japanese ramen, it's really tasty. The broth is always steaming hot, and the accoutrements (corn, chives, green onions, sliced pork) add superb flavor. The noodles are cooked perfectly. Not the BEST ramen I've had, but it's good. Better than the overrated Santouka
Good, but pricier than other places. I guess any time you go out for ramen you are going to think its expensive compared to making it yourself. Bowl was huge, broth was good, really didn't need much additional flavoring except the dry red spice to liven it up a little. I was either really hungry, or there wasn't much in my bowl, because I sucked it down in less than 5 minutes it seemed. 2 bowls, no drinks, $22 with tip.
LOVE IT!. I just cant get enough of it!
before you know it ... its gone
Ajisen Ramen is a Japan-based chain of fast food restaurants selling Japanese ramen noodle soup dishes. The company’s logo, featuring artwork of a little girl named Chii-Chan, can be found on their stores and products. Ajisen has outlets in Japan, Australia, Canada, China, Guam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, and the United States. We went for lunch at the Irvine location in the Diamond Jamboree Plaza. The Diamond Jamboree location is always packed with hungry diners. Every time we went there, we had to take a number and wait for at least 15 minutes. The restaurant will not sit you unless everyone in your party is present. Getting a table is well worth the wait. Ajisen makes some of the best ramen in the city. The both is full of flavor and the pork is super tender. Well, it would be if I had ordered the pork ramen like I’ve always done in the past. Instead, I tried their veggie ramen this time, which isn’t 100% vegetarian since the soup is made from pork. It was still very good. With locations all over the world, there’s sure to be a Ajisen near you. If you have a hankering for great tasting ramen, give Ajisen a try. Ajisen Ramen's symbol is a cute anime Chinese girl in a Chi Pao and winking cutely! lol It was packed for dinner. I actually thought about coming here when Ms. Lin was around with the family but the wait was way too long. Even on a Monday night they were
The lunch special is very much a steal!!! Given the proportions for the ramens - my friend and I were incredible full after our meals.
If you order the vegetable ramen, the assortment of vegetables made me really happy as a person who loves a good variety of vegetables in any dish she orders. The gyoza dumplings were much softer than expected - light and meaty. The fried tofu had a crunchiness like tempura and it’s paired sauce added the right amount of saltiness.
Our orders were taken and served quickly.
They began a new orgami series you may see on the shelves using the paper menus they give out.
I’ve gone to the restaurant before nearly a decade ago - and it still remains as a good place to go to for some solid ramen.
Really great ramen 🍜. The service was fast. Bordering on rude when they asked me for the fourth time if I was ready to eat after sitting down for 10 minutes. They’re just really quick. Great selection of drinks and food.
Best ramen, good service. Before Covid 19 the line was always long. It’s located in the Diamond plaza with lots of other restaurants and HMart market.
Great food and prices. I come here a lot; either for any of the amazing ramens or for the curry rice. So good. They usually don't have a wait when we come and we get in quickly and get our food quick. They have had the BOGO drinks forever it seems and just check in on Yelp and can get the free drink. We do it every time and love coming here. Staff are friendly and food is reliably good.
The slushes with boba are great on hot days.
Very Good Restaurant with lot of delicious food. We tried volcano Ramen and Chicken Ramen, both are excellent. There is a nice menu with photos so we can select looking the same which is very user friendly.
Felt like back in China, the Sortiment and the soup of the ramen was way better than in China. The service was very friendly and the waiting time is very short. They had also some various sea fruits, felt like coming home again.
Great selection of food, actually a ton, that’s why I decided to take a picture of the menu since everything looked so tasty and I m glad we came. Had good service and not very busy so it was great considering the whole mall is packed ... the food is flavorful and quick n easy, don’t expect a world class chef here please, reading others low opinion and comments at this restaurant and it’s so ridiculous
Enjoyed the overall experience. Had a great Ramen Beef meal. The establishment is surprisingly spacious considering the way it looks from outside. I thought it was kinda cool and interesting to eat at a table with random people who were not part of the My group. I don't know if that's something that is done all the time or when it's a full house. Met random people and had an overall good time. The service was great as well.
Establishment 3/5
Food 4/5
Service 4/5
Amazing ramen at an affordable price. Personally, I ordered the ABC (Ajisen Best Combo Ramen, #31) with a whole egg and spicy beef soup base. The total was $16.05.
The ramen tasted amazing. The flavors were rich and the broth was just the right level of saltiness. The bowl was filled with delicious contents that made the menu picture unjustifiable for what it was.
My only complaint is that my brother (who ordered the exact same thing) got less broth then me (even though we paid the same price).
Been meaning to try this ramen place.....what a pleasant surprise 😋 I had a guest in from Japan and she loved it!
