Kazan

Fantastic food, but lackluster service. The food was fresh and well prepared. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the shrimp were tasty, but the star of the show was the vegetables. They did not have the usual sweet teriyaki sauce, but a mildly sweet sauce with a dark, smoky flavor. The chef did not put on much of a show, but he did do an excellent job of cooking the food. They only had 2 waitresses and cooks. we waited nearly an hour before the chef came out, and the next table went uncleaned the whole 2 hours we were there The restoom is a long way from the dining area. It was clean enough, but kind of run down. There were no paper towels. You can't open the door with an electric hand dryer lol.

Love going here. I haven't been since before the pandemic. The presentation of the chef and food are wonderful! I always leave with leftovers. One thought about this place is that I wish they would cook the meat first and then the veggies and rice so that I don't fill up on the rice before the meat is done. Also, the atmosphere is a bit too dark and drab, though. And it's always freezing inside the dining area. But I will go back.

Solid spot for hibachi! All the meats are high quality (including the scallops, surprisingly) and staff is very friendly. Restaurant doesn’t look like much on the outside as it’s part of a plaza, but it’s clean and well taken care of on the inside. Took a couple points away for room-temperature sake (when you order hot, you want it hot!) and a lower-energy vibe. The latter isn’t entirely their fault, but it’s important nonetheless: part of the corny fun of a hibachi restaurant is being in a place that’s packed to the gills and buzzing with a lot of noise and entertainment. Kazan is not currently that place. A little more elaborate theming as well as a little more flair and free-flowing sake during the cooking performances could definitely help liven up the atmosphere. All-in-all, still a great spot to visit in Indy if hibachi’s your thing (and much better than the local Benihana).

Great night out for the family or with that special someone! The staff was phenomenal—the right amount of service with the smile and interaction you expect at a Hibachi restaurant. The hostess/server was our favorite person! She kept a smile on my son’s face, and our glasses were full! She also recommended we try a lemon cookie! #AMAZING

This place is the BEST HIBACHI IN THE CITY HANDS DOWN!!!! Not only is this the freshest most delicious hibachi at shamefully cheap prices; but the even better part is the SERVICE!!!!! They treat you like family here. I come every single Friday and I’ll continue for years to come. Do yourself a favor and come get some of this amazing food!!!!!

We travel a lot and always look for Japanese Hibachi restaurants in each city we visit. Kazan Japanese Steakhouse is one of the best, not just in the Indianapolis area, but across the Country! We are blessed to have a restaurant with this quality of food and service so close to home! Try it once and you be hooked … we typically eat at Kazan at least once a week, twice if we are lucky!! The food is always so fresh and perfectly cooked, and the Hibachi Chefs and servers are unrivaled in friendliness and quality of service! You will not be disappointed!!

Me and my daughter went early on a Saturday and they had lunch specials so that was a big plus. The cook was cool I’m not into all the tricks I just want to eat. I got the steak and chicken hibachi.The egg roll was fire. I took one star because it smelled weird inside and it made take one star .Other than that it was nice.

Fun, friendly staff, and delicious food! We visited while on a weekend trip while we had some time to kill. The atmosphere is nice - clean and spacious, and they even have a photo op wall. The staff is the selling point for sure - we love to joke and have a good time, and these guys sure know how to joke around! 10/10 would recommend for a great family experience!
