Review Pizza King - Indianapolis

Tradition never tasted so good. I've been eating Pizza King for over 35 years but this was the first time I've EVER been to a different location. My family met the owner and his wife and they were amazing people. I can't recommend this location enough. The TX BBQ was perfectly made just like I've enjoyed for generations. 5 Stars!

The Pizza King Station in Southport is by far my favorite restaurant around the Indianapolis area. You get seated right away, the customer service is great, and the pizza is Awesome! 02/15/23 had lunch, and just like always, my pizza was great tasting and the service was excellent! Had to come back again 07/14/23, everything is still the same! My favorite pizza

Awesome little place. Each booth has a TV and a little window where a toy train comes and brings your drinks. I grew up eating Pizza King until I moved. This is one of my favorite locations now. They also have different pizzas and side items that most Pizza Kings don't offer.

My best friend and his girlfriend told me about this Pizza King Station, which I didn't believe they actually had a model train that brings out drinks. The booths each have different trains from throughout history, which I admire very much. It brings back memories of my grandpa working as a lineman, and my uncle loving model trains in his basement and in his backyard, which you could ride on. I enjoy the service very much, and I highly recommend the food. The owner even came out and greeted us. The restaurant is family oriented, and they care about their customers. Please check out the Pizza King Station when you have the chance and bring the kids.

The food was great. The atmosphere was really cool. The Staff was the best part. It was the best experience I have ever had at any restaurant. I brought a friend with me who has never eaten at pizza king. My friend loved it too. We felt more like family than customers. They even gave us a free sample of the pizza. They also contributed to the community donating food to the homeless during the pandemic. I also love the train. God bless America. From a grateful military veteran And his friend. Thank you.

TLDR: Classic Pizza King with a train and friendly staff. Breadsticks are forgettable, salads are terrible, but the pizzas are solid! Pizza is also great when delivered. Dining areas could use extra cleaning and a shame they use Styrofoam for to go drinks, as it's not eco-friendly. Four stars for food and service. --- Craved Pizza King on my visit to Indy and my mom and I went to this location. I have also had delivery the week prior. 1. Location is well maintained. Interior booths could use extra cleaning, specifically the train windows had kids smushed fingers prints all over it. 2. Service was very friendly. Our server was a teen girl who was extremely friendly and sweet. 3. The trains are still pretty cute. I could have lived without a big patriotic train though with eagles and flags all over it. But, Indiana loves its patriotic stuff. 4. We tried pretzel breadsticks at my mom's choice. They were bearable, but, I've never been a fan of Pizza King breadsticks. They were pretzel in look, but had no salt on them. I ate one and called it the quits. 5. We asked for potato skins but they were out, they have not been able to find a new supplier for potato skins so they are not offering them at this time. 6. I had a salad when I got my pizza delivered and thought it was a screw up - shredded iceberg lettuce like is served on tacos with one tiny chopped tomato and cubed mozzeralla on top. It was terrible, but the Italian dressing was great. Turns out this is how some locations serve their salads. I will not get it again. 7. Was happy to see our sodas and waters served in reusable plastic cups. I have been frustrated by the amount of single use plastic and Styrofoam in Indianapolis. The to go cups are Styrofoam. I really wish they'd move away from that and modernize to something more eco-friendly (paper or biodegradable). 8. 10" cheese pizza was delicious and hit the spot in that unique PK way! I'd go back to this location, but, would like to check out others next visit. The one I grew up with is in Greenwood and has moved from its original location. However, the trains are fun and a unique attraction. p.s. If they would have had a t-shirt with the King on it I would have bought one in black!!

I love the classic experience at Pizza King! It's always been one of my favorite places to go for pizza and breadsticks! I love the train theme and the tvs in the booths! It's fun to watch the train go by while eating! My wife and I had a wonderful time, and the service and food were both great!

Had a pepperoni pizza and it wasn't the best I ever had, not even in the top five, but it wasn't bad. The service was good and the place was clean. They charge extra for watching TV while you eat, found that a little strange but perhaps that's for the kids. They have a few claw-machines with prizes and candy, several broken so didn't use them. I do like the patriotic train that delivered our drinks. Overall a good experience.

About 20 years ago I always went to the Pizza King Train Station in Franklin Indiana. My Best Friend and Girlfriend the other day were talking about Pizza and I said have you ever heard of Pizza King Train Station? The one in Franklin closed down but we saw this one and us 3 made the trip from Greenfield Indiana to Eat Here. It was like being shot back 20 years. The Nostalgia and Memories came back. The Food was excellent, the service was Excellent, the little Train that brings you Your drinks is awesome. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a cozy and cool atmosphere!

Great place for a family outing. I've never seen it crowded here so you should get a table immediately. The kids will absolutely love watching the train bring the drinks and the refills.

Not as good as the one in Evansville, but it's better than no Pizza King. Ham & cheese was on a hamburger size bun, rather than the ft-long roll, and Strom was a bit skimpy, compared to the E'ville one. Still delicious!

This is the only pizza king I go to. Staff is always friendly and welcoming and I have never had an incorrect order or bad pizza. Kudos to you pizza king. I will always be back

The train that brings drinks around is cool for the kids. That is the best feature this place has going. The "stuffed breadsticks" are pretty good. The pizza however is not very good. The crust has a cardboard like aftertaste. The service is not very friendly either... The salad was made with shredded iceberg lettuce, which actually wasn't that bad, but not worth the price for "cheap" lettuce. Again, if you have little kids that like trains you might want to try this place, if you do... Stick to a couple orders of breadsticks, otherwise go somewhere else. The pizza is reasonably priced, but again due to the fact it taste bad.... Skip it!! Oh by the way the booths have a t.v. inside that is .25$ for about 5 minutes.

Great Place for a Party!!. We had a terrible time trying to come up with a place to host my son's 3rd birthday party. A friend of mine recommended Pizza King at Southport and Bluff because they had a large party room.

When we arrived, we were promptly greeted by Dave and showed our room. This party room was amazing! It was very large, plenty of seating, and several tables. You could easily fit 45 or more people in here. The 25 of us were very comfortable. The room itself has some arcade games and a TV - which was nice, so we could keep an eye on the Colts game that was going on during the party. The room had a door that separated it from the remainder of the restaurant and it also had a door leading out to their patio area which we could also use. Being in December, only the smokers used the patio, but it was very nice that we didn't have to disturb the rest of the customers by continuously walking through the restaurant.

As far as the food, we ordered 3 large 16" pizzas which were about $16 each. We didn't load them up with toppings, just kept it basic for the kids - two cheese and one pepperoni. The pizza was quite good. They are cut up into party-size squares which was perfect. Two families at our party chose to order their own pizzas in addition to what we provided, but we had some of the pizza left over, so it actually went a long way.

The way they did the drinks was also very convenient, Dave asked us what we wanted and brought us pitchers and ice so we could pour our own drinks. They charge everyone for one drink, then it's unlimited refills, so you don't pay by-the-pitcher or anything like that.

We had the room for 5 hours - we allowed an hour for setup and an hour for cleanup, and 3 hours for the party. I got 2 rolls of quarters so the kids could play games while we were there, they all had a really good time! I loved the private room and patio area. It would be great to do a summer party here, to have access to the inside and outside!

The cost was quite reasonable. We paid for the 3 pizzas, everyone's drink, and they only charge a 20% gratuity for the room - that's it. There's no extra fees for their party room, just what I would normally leave as a tip anyway! All in all, it cost me right at $120, which is 1/3 of what it would have cost me to have his party at Chuck E. Cheese or any other place we looked into.

I forgot to mention - Dave, our server, was amazing! Everyone there was really nice. I'm not sure if it's a family-owned restaurant or not, but Dave acted like he owned the place. He was so pleasant and friendly, and consistently made sure we had everything that we needed. He did so much more than a typical server does at any restaurant I've ever been to. Great Job!

We have definitely found a new place to hold our family gatherings! It was just a wonderful experience!!

Stopped here for lunch! Disappointing! I'm put-off by my drink running around the perimeter open , where who knows what can fall in, on a train I can guarantee was never cleaned. The salad was lettuce, ham and practically a whole box of cardboard croutons only! No tomatoes or carrots, cucumbers.....the lettuce was bagged crap. Might be back and try a sandwich but the pizza didnt look any better than the sad salad!

Train. Love the atmosphere here. A great place to bring children. The thin slices here are so so good!

7045 bluff road. Bought a pizza yesterday and brought it home to eat today. there was hair in my pizza and can not eat it. probably from the young girl that was there in kitchen that did not do any work while i was there, other than primp her hair in the reflection of stuff in kitchen. then she was trowing pieces of pizza topping at the guys that where not working very hard. all the total of all 4 people in kitchen was make my pizza with hair, put it in oven, cut it, put in box. that's it. 4 people doing diddly. maybe wearing hair nets and primping in bathroom might keep the hair out of my pizza. giving everybody a job to do and cut back on extra staff they wont have time to throw food at each other. pretty nasty kitchen manners with a customer watching. can only imagine what they do when no customers watching.

Price on e mail. Why do you not have pricses for your food on the e mail web?

Great experience. I had read some negative reviews so almost did not take my 5 grandkids, wife, daughter, and three sons ( a lot on the line here), but decided to chance it. The pizza was really good; the young people who served us were helpful and polite; the restaurant was clean and the kids enjoyed seeing the train come by delivering drinks. If it truly was bad before (see some other reviews), they have responded to the critics with excellence and ought to be rewarded.

Worst experience all around. I had to leave without even eating it was so horrible.

Worst Pizza King I've ever been to!. This is absolutely the worst Pizza King I've ever been to -- bad management, bad (and slow!) service, and bad food. We were served burned, blackened pizza and sandwiches, and when we pointed this out and mentioned that we didn't have time to wait another 50 minutes for our food to be redone, they told us that they'd "take care" of that food on our bill if we wanted to go ahead and try to eat some of it.

When we got ready to pay, they'd given us only a 10% discount. We asked to speak to a manager, and instead of handling the situation, he put the 16 year old assistant manager in charge and walked away. The 16 year old told us that there was nothing he could do about our bill, but he offered us a 50% discount on our next bill the next time we came back.

We just went back, and instead of honoring what we were told, after taking our order, the same manager sent the same 16 year old out to our table 15 minutes later to tell us that they wouldn't give us the 50% discount after all -- they'd only give us a 15% discount because we did eat the food the last time. I pointed out that we ate the burned food then because we had no time to wait on a re-order and we assumed that they would do what was right. We got up to leave, and the 16 year old literally stood in the middle of the restaurant arguing with me about the situation. I went up to talk to the same manager, and when I expressed how unhappy I was, all he would do is stand there and shrug at me.

Please save your money and either visit another pizza place in the area or go to another Pizza King!!

For the kids. This is a very cute place for the kids. They have a TV at every table and your drinks come on a miniature train. However, the pizza is horrible. The crust is like a cheap Tony's pizza (frozen/grocery store) and the pepperoni and ham come in the form of a cube. If you are over 12 do not come hungry.
