This is a charming little place on the North side in the vicinity of 59th and Georgetown road. It has been around for 15 years, the current husband and wife team that own the place bought it in 2012. They serve a basic menu of sandwiches, soups and salads for lunch and the usual eggs, pancakes and biscuits and gravy for breakfast. It’s not sexy or “cutting edge” they just offer good cooking at a reasonable price.
We loved it! Food was great, the service was great and the atmosphere was great. The people we were with said even the coffee was great. We will definitely stop again next time in town.
We have had both to go orders and catering delivered to our house from BBI Cafe and we can say with confidence that the food and service are always wonderful.

My family decided to let me choose a restaurant as a belated Father's Day present. I checked my wishlist and found Bbi, which I had put on there about a year ago. It was 7:45 and we were 10 min away, they closed at 8. I called, Amin answered the phone and said no problem. We got there right at 8. His adorable daughters made friends with mine right away and he told us all about the menu. I had the chicken Dagwood, which was excellent. Not too many condiments that it took away from the taste. My wife isn't a fan of eating bread so she was happy to see entree choices on the menu as well. The food came out and they even gave us a sampler of soups to try with our meal. The curry soup was out of this world! They only have it on special periodically but the baked potato soup and chicken chili were great as well. Don't hesitate to try this place out. For myself, the monte cristo is the next item on my list. It's great to know good people like Amin and his family can still be successful while running an extremely reasonably priced restaurant with unbelievable food. Overall it was a great dining experience and judging from the ratings, that is the norm and not the exception.
Had the chicken with artichoke meal. Very tasty. Fresh food and friendly service. Would definitely return.
Great place great food. Specials are always good. Tilapia with lobster meat is to die for!!! And cheap!!
Never Disappointed. I've had several meals at BBI Cafe & have never been disappointed. More than just a burger joint or Jimmy John's wannabe, this place is creative. For example, last week I had a wrap loaded with chipotle turkey breast & ham, Arugula, chipotle sauce, cucumbers, red peppers, bacon & tomates with a side of coleslaw. It was a little spicy, but you expect that with chipotle. The flavors & textures blended well, and my tastebuds loved it.
Usually, I get the daily special which goes for 8.99 with a large drink. The owners are also the chefs, and are very polite and friendly. There is no table service - you walk in and order off a large chalkboard menu, pay for your meal, get your own drink and they bring it out to you. If you're looking for something beyond the standard fast food, you need to try BBI.
Fast service with a personal touch. If you want truly great food, this is the place.
Cleanest restaurant in the city! Food is amazing, vast majority of food on the menu is made from scratch. Love the ahi tuna special!!!! Place has everything from fresh soups to gyros. Service is the main reason to visit. Really an awesome neighborhood family restaurant!!!!
Great food. First off, it is clear to me that the people posting below me hate change. Just because something isn't how you remember it or were used to it doesn't mean it's not good-it means you won't like it because it's not what you remember.
That being said......BBI is hands down my favorite place to eat. I found it about two years ago and actually like the new ownership better. Amen is a great chef and you can see the pride in his work in every meal. The food is great and the presentation always blows me away. It is a cafe and not a high scale restaurant mind you, but never the less it is always the first place I chose to go for a filling meal, great taste, and excellent price!
I absolutely LOVED this place! The restaurant was clean. Saying the staff is "friendly" would be a complete understatement. They were such a breath of fresh air and I genuinely felt as though they cared about our business. They welcomed us and asked if it was our first time. The food came out super fast and was delicious. I am absolutely 110% planning on going back time and time again. If you happen to visit, please make sure to tell your friends. I honestly never would have even thought about going here had it not been for the person who suggested it :-)
This is a quaint little Greek Sandwich & salad restaurant! I love ❤️ this place! I get the Greek Salad with Lamb gyro meat atop! 10/ 10 experience with soft jazz playing to soothe your spirit and food for the soul!
Love this place! The owner is so lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. Great mix of American food and tasty Mexican dishes. I've ordered everything from their steak tacos to the BLT to the Monte Cristo to their various daily specials and they're always top notch. Insanely fast service, too. Highly recommend
What a charming, lovely, comfy little gem! The interior is tastefully decorated, staff and owners warm and cheerful, and food that I tried delicious. I needed a place to camp out and work, so the server helped me find the perfect booth with an outlet. I ordered the falafel appetizer and it was great! Beautifully plated and super fresh and tasty. It has a warm family vibe and if I lived closer I’d definitely be a regular here!
I really liked this place. They deserve 4+ stars in all honesty. The food was good and fresh. The facility is super clean and the staff in very friendly. The prices are fantastic! The menu selection was modest. I definitely plan to return and I'm looking forward to exploring their menu. 👍
This place is Amazing! Today I had the special of the day, breakfast grilled cheese with ham and egg. It was perfectly cook and awesome. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a 6-star restuarant! They have a wide variety on the menu.
Hidden Gem! ALL my food was fresh and delicious. I had the Tuscany Chicken Sandwich. Phenomenal!
Coworker and I visited for lunch. Had a great tasting Shawarma Steak Pita and fries while my coworker had a bacon cheeseburger and was also thoroughly impressed. Will go back any time we're in the area for lunch.
This was my first visit and I was very impressed. The menu has SO MANY options (almost overwhelming, lol, but I survived). I decided on the grilled pastrami sandwich which came with a small house salad. Both were tasty. I will ask for options for salad dressing next time, but what I had was ok...ranch, I think...and I'm not really a ranch girl. The sandwich was good, but I would've liked a more generous amount of pastrami. The service was GREAT....fast, very friendly and interactive, I definitely will return to try more of their many temptations.
Small business with a lot of charm and passion for making good food with good presentation. Every dish and side has a unique spicing that makes everything a treat to try. Very good pricing, too!
