I work in the building and eat here 2-3 times a week, typically. Such a wide variety of options including soup, salads, paninis, wraps, baked potatoes, etc. The White Bean Chicken Chili and Applewood salad are my go-to, but everything is very good. They also serve breakfast and have 2 for $5.00 hot breakfast sandwiches & wraps, yogurt parfaits, and fresh fruit. It IS a little pricey, but they have daily lunch specials which help and also...the quality of food is so good that I don't really mind the price.
Great price, so many options.. Soup, potatoes, paninis, chili, salad, quesadillas, pizza ... so many options. The service is incredibly fast (made to order), the staff has lots of suggestions, you can't beat the price and the food is quite good. Pretty basic food, but I liked everything I tasted. Having lots of options is always a nice thing.
It's a great place to go with coworkers when you want to maximize your chat time. The only problem is finding it! It's sort of hidden off Illinois St.
Great place!
They have really fresh salads and produce. I enjoy the taco and cobb salads. The sandwiches are also of quality. The place can be busy, but the line moves fast, so dont let a line out the door scare you. This place has become a regular lunch spot for many downtown workers looking for a good/healthy lunch.
Loved this place! The food is delicious and affordable, the service is friendly and helpful, and the environment is clean and welcoming. I would go again.
I came across Cafe 251 through google maps, just browsing for lunch. The location isn't quite as convenient as I hoped, but it's perfect for those who work in the same building.
The soups are amazing! This week I tried the Chicken Velvet and Chicken con Queso, both amazing. 10/10 for the Chicken Salad Sandwich and Broccoli Salad. Delicious.
The staff was incredibly friendly, as well as helpful!
It was an overall welcoming vibe and I look forward to having lunch here more often.
oh, P.S. - they have the good ice!
Great food and very large portions. I was a bit disappointed that it's a Cunningham restaurant but they don't accept the rewards system since it's co-owned. The place was clean and inviting, but instructions on how to order would have been helpful as a first timer.
This place is a regular for me for lunch. The staff there is amazing and makes you really feel at home. They're very personable and remember your face and your orders. Lots of options for food. The buffalo chicken quesadilla is my favorite, and their chicken velvet soup is awesome.
This is my go-to for a quick and satisfying work lunch downtown. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the food is fresh with generous servings.

First time here. I came for lunch. Had the Taco Salad. For being small order dish, you sure get a lot of food. The dish tasted amazing. The menu consists of most hot/cold sandwiches, salads, and soups. I would
Quick lunch place to get yummy food. Today I had the chili and broccoli salad.
Very friendly staff. Nice, low-key place for suits in the downtown area. Prices were not outrageous for what you get. Food is like higher quality cafeteria food. The eating area here is probably the best part. Floor to ceiling windows give you a great view of New York street as people are running around on lunch break.
A little pricey for things like salads, and the layout is a mess (just go stand in front of whatever you're there to get; sandwich people can skip right past the giant soup and salad line). Wednesday is Buffalo Chicken Day, and it's a mini-holiday for me every week. They also have an outstanding coffee cake.
