Review Ukiyo - Indianapolis

An excellent meal and excellent service on a Saturday lunch. The meal was a Toki Highball, seafood ramen (half), kimchi french fries, and a hot chicken bun. Let's talk about the ramen. The seafood ramen was delicious; the flavor was clean and subtle. Nothing fishy about the broth and the salmon roe added a perfect salty and umami decadence. The kimchi fries were crisp and had just the right amount of chasu and the special sauce. Think of it as Asian chili fries if you can't picture what it looks like. The taste of the special sauce was that of yum yum and kimchi. The hot chicken bun was also a treat. Dark meat chicken, the most underrated and flavor, was crisply fried and paired with pickles and a chili oil. The chili oil wasn't very spicy, in my opinion, but the pickles and a nice balance to the fried chicken. My only gripe was the relation of the ramen bowl height to the table and seat. For me, the setup just seemed way too tall. It was awkward to reach down in my deep ramen bowl.

An adorable setting, with amazing food! We came for a lunch and split 3 rolls. All three were fresh, and so flavorful. We also got the seafood ramen, which was good, but not nearly as memorable as the rolls.

Pretty decent Ramen. I had the Spicy Curry Special and it wasn’t too spicy but very thick and greasy. I think this is a good place if you want to try something new. The Karaage chicken was awesome I would go back for just that.

The best sushi I have ever had! Everything else we had was also stellar. Ukiyo's genuine care for sustainable and local food is quite impressive. I would highly recommend eating here, you will not be disappointed! The atmosphere, the food, and the staff were all amazing!

The food was delicious. I enjoyed stopping by for lunch and trying out the amazing ramen. The fried chicken was also so good! It is a little pricey, but the ramen portions are big and definitely worth it. I hope to try out the dinner menu sometime, but I know I’ll be back for lunch again soon!

Unusual food and tasty too. We enjoyed catfish and yellow tail both as sashimi and main course. Octopus dumplings are a circus act, as the fill dough moves in the steam of the dumplings. It appears they love salt, so next time I will ask for the low sodium option.

Modern twists on traditional Japanese fair. Fresh sustainable fish for their sushi and they use as much local ingredients in their menu as possible. The staff is top notched as well everyone is really friendly and helpful, plus the decor of the restaurant is sleek, calming, modern yet still with a traditionally Japanese style .Super hyped to try one of the Omakase nights!!

Visited there last week for the first time. Surprisingly pretty good Ramen as well as quality shushi (wild salmon was a plus!). Thin noodles were used for shyoyu which is more typical for tonkotsu style but they were perfectly cooked. Broth was closer to Sio (salt) vs soy. I would like to see wavy noodles for Shyoyu ramen and slightly less salty with little more soy & broth flavor. Overall very nice place.

Didn't really get a fair take tonight; the server was overwhelmed and several items I wanted on menu were unavailable but what I did have was tasty. I can really tell) taste the quality of the seafood they use. My sushi was delicious.

Friendly staff with great service. Restaurant was very clean. Food looked excellent, however the pork Ramen was a bit watered down. I really wanted a concentrated burst of flavor but was slightly disappointed. The flavors that were there were really interesting, I just wanted more of it. They also served a ginger rice milk after my meal and it was very good. I was all together pleased with my visit.
