Got the rib dinner, and the ribs were really good. I loved the bbq sauce. Also got 2 orders of mac n cheese, and there was some good flavor there, but not my favorite I've ever had. Nothing they did wrong, though. Got a peach cobbler, and it's really tasty, but I feel like it might be missing something... maybe more crust? I will absolutely be back. Good food at fair prices, and the staff were friendly.

I stopped in here the Saturday before Christmas to get some brisket. I got a pound and a half, chopped, which I've been eating the last few days with flour tortillas, homemade refried pinto beans and some good pico de gallo. Man, just heaven. I lived in or around Austin for a long time and wanted to recreate similar tacos that I'd get there...this scratched that itch and then some. The brisket, btw, heats back up really nice in a cast iron skillet. I'm really pleased to have tried this place. The folks were very personable and friendly and I'm certain I'll be back👍

Amazing food and atmosphere! The lady gave us free gift cards for having to wait! Even though we only waited 5-10 mins!! I would definitely recommend if you enjoy a nice hearty pizza and some killer nacho cheese sauce

This is a GEM that I wish I'd discovered years ago! Some of the best brisket I've ever experienced as well as corned beef ... all a top a baked potato! Talk about a winning combination! This family friendly business is a must stop when visiting Indianapolis! Can't wait to visit again soon! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tired this place for the first time today. Small waiting and ordering area almost reminds you of a waiting room at a doctors office, but that’s okay. There is no place to eat on the property. Brisket had great flavor as well as the sauce. The Mac and cheese was gooey and amazing. The one complaint I had the sandwich was sitting in sauce. Like the bottom bun was sunk in sauce. Impossible to pick up and eat, which is okay. I planned on eating it with a fork. No problem but if you plan on eating in your car, that could be an issue.

The loaded chicken potato was a 3/5 for me. I'll definitely go for the brisket next visit. The peach cobbler was very good. I do recommend you try it for yourself.

I got a pulled pork sandwich dinner to go. There are no tables. The pork was chopped into small pieces making the sandwich a knife and fork exercise. It was a touch salty for my taste but it was reasonably priced. I'll some other options when I'm in the neighborhood.

Best BBQ in Indianapolis. A true hole in the wall place, completely nondescript and unnoticeable unless you're already looking for it. No eating in, takeout only as they clearly focus strictly on only what they do best: making BBQ. You can't really go wrong with your order here, but I prefer the sliced brisket, with its delightfully smoky flavor and fall-apart juiciness that reminisces of biting into an overly juicy fruit where it runs down your chin if you're not quick. Sides are also solidly tasty and worth adding to the order.

I just wanna take the time to thank Terri Edwards and Hank's Smoked Briskets for catering our Fourth of July bbq bash! Both Terri and Mrs. Brenda were very helpful! We order loads of slabs of ribs and whole chickens and expressed we needed our order by July 1, 2023 no later than 2pm. We came in talked about our event what we needed, our expectations and how we wanted it prepared AND THEY DELIVERED! I was late upon my arrival and before I could call to let them know Mrs. Brenda had called me telling me my order was here and ready to be picked up! I appreciated the professionalism, customer service, ON TIME EXPECTATIONS, and friendly beautiful smiles!!!!! Our guest loved the seasonings and the bbq on the food and raved about how tender juicy and delicious the ribs were. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS BLACK OWNED BUSINESS. Their efficiency is TOP TIER. It is very safe to say THE HUGHES/ THE SAVAGE FAMILY WILL BE USING THIS BUSINESS FOR MANY MORE EVENTS. Thank you so much for everything. I also highly recommend this business for all your catering events as well as the very scrumptious peach cobbler!!!! Much love and gratitude!!! 😀😀😀 SIDENOTE: we had over 120 guest at our event and had more than enough food for 2nds and 3rds for our guest to eat off of!!!

Probably about as good of bbq as you will get in Indiana. In my opinion this isn’t at the same level of some of the places you’ll get in Texas or Memphis. However the meat is tender, good quality and the sauce is on point. Overall this is definitely worth checking out and will satisfy your bbq craving without a doubt.

Food was great, cook to order I believe. I was there for about 12 minutes and was served a fresh bbq dinner. The lady who took my order seemed to be irritated (maybe not her day that day) but no other problems than that ! Definitely worth a try!

Mesquite smoked brisket. Not my favorite as mesquite is a very hard wood and burns at high temps. Fat laden brisket needs to be cooked low and slow to render the fats. The owner goes to Texas twice a year to get the wood. Now that's TLC! Having said that was a great tasting brisket sandwich.

Hank smokes up some amazing Brisket. But what lures me in anytime I'm anywhere within 20 miles of the place is his smoked Corned Beef! It's ridiculously tasty, always juicy and definitely worth a trip! <br/><br/>**Note: Hanks serves takeout only.

Love the place. I've been twice and their meat melts in your mouth. The sauce is perfect, sides are good, and the desserts are no joke! The staff is friendly and very welcoming. So glad they are 10 minutes from our house. Some of the best BBQ in town!!! Choose anything, you won't go wrong!

As we walked in, they realized we were 1st timers so they got some samples ready for us. I quickly realized I have only ever had bad corned beef because it was phenomenal. We ended up with both the corned beef and brisket and every ounce of meat was devoured.

I had the corn beef hash and the smoked brisket and it just melted in my mouth. Cooked to perfection. The Mac and cheese was a little to peppery for my liking, but the BBQ sauce makes the trip worth it. It's sweet, with a hint of mustard, I could drink it.

Our New Love. The smoked corned beef brisket, served in thick, juicy, smokey, melting slices - it is one impressive taste experience. The Hubs and I got a pound and a couple of buns and went to Crown Hill to picnic. The Hubs lost all control and inhaled all the remaining meat before I ate my sandwich, requiring another stop for another pound and dessert. <br/>Hank's reminds me of going to the barber shop with my dad. Spotless linoleum floor and chairs lined up on the wall, and an order counter. Plenty of seating while waiting for your turn to order and pick-up, but no dine-in option. I love Crown Hill, and a new picnic table memorial has been built on the south side of Strawberry Hill, so the carry-out factor is a plus for me. <br/>The smoked corned beef is a must try, and the regular brisket is also very good. We liked the slaw and the desserts - sugar cream pie and cheesecake. The latkes were not what I anticipated - more like mashed potatoes and corn smooshed together in a cup. Not bad, just strange. <br/>Try Hank's - fabulous food and friendly people.

OUTSTANDING!!! BBQ joint. I felt like I got lost outside of Memphis and wandered into a BBQ dream. I did wander into a bbq dream but in Indy. Nothing phony, fancy or trying to be what it's not. <br/><br/>Hank is a pitmaster of the highest order, brisket is superior, smoked corned beef-better and sausage snaps like it should.<br/><br/>Desserts were homemade and better than I have found yet, including Gray's Cafeteria. <br/><br/>Just like great bbq it takes time, place your order, chat over the counter with the friendly folks, thank Hank and the ladies, go home, enjoy and be ready for a nap. Easily, best in town!

Great Brisket and Hot Links. Picked up a 1/2lb of both the hot links and the brisket and they were great. Both sauces (mild and hot) compliment the meat well. Got the Mac and Cheese and it was okay but wouldn't get again. The staff is great, giving me a sample because it was my first time, and were very friendly. Will be back for more very soon.

This restaurant is take out only.. After reading the reviews we were excited to try some good bbq. Unfortunately I missed in the review I read that there was no seating. We were from out of town and did not want to eat lunch in the car. It smelled great though! Maybe next time we are in Indy we will get a chance to try it.

Amazing! Hank is a super nice guy, he let us try his brisket which the girlfriend and I both bought. We also tried the smoked cornbeef which I will be getting next time. We also bought a half rack of ribs which were phenominal as well. I'm going back tomorrow for more.

The best ever!!!!. Let me make this perfectly clear, Hank's has the best brisket ever!!! I'm from Chicago and have relatives in Dallas which I visit often. We know our food. I've had Texas brisket in Texas and Chicago. Hank is from Texas so who else better to make it. I currently live in Arizona and he ships me whole brisket. I let my co workers try it and they now order as well. We are trying to get him to open shop in AZ. You will not want to eat brisket anywhere else. Super bowl visitors, try Hank's!

Hanks Brisket is Great. Not for the calorie counters, but the true brisket fans. Hanks Brisket is the best I've ever tasted. The brisket is flavorful, moist and the portions are generous. The price is spot on considering that one order could feed 3 normal portions (unless you are like me, then it only feeds two). I would definitely recommend Hanks to anyone who is a brisket connoisseurr.

Best Brisket in Indy. Come here often. Best brisket in Indianapolis. Squealers says theirs is good and it really is not. Hanks brisket is tender, flavorful and moist. Good prices also. Try the cobbler.

Ms. Jones. The one time that I had the pleasure of having Hank's it was awesome. A couple of my co-workers were talking about ordering a Brisket sandwich from Hank's and asked if I wanted to come along. I had never had this type of meat so I wasn't sure if I would like it but to my surprise it was wonderful! I will be a customer for life!

Camea Fields. Hank's Smoked Brisket is very tasty the food has an special acquired taste. The facility is very clean you are sure to recieve prompt excellent service. On special days they even have fish which is very very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a real meal.

Slow, but good. In search of a barbecue sandwich on the near northside I picked Hanks for convenience. There seemed to be only one person working and when I stood at the high order window she greeted me from behind a service window and took my order. There was a lengthy wait (There was a large order before mine) While I was paying I viewed the microwave preparation of my sandwich and baked potato which did not impress. Overall, the sandwich was huge and good and the brisket potato was pretty good. I was glad I asked for extra bbq sauce because there was no sauce on the potato. The baked beans were so-so. This is a take out only restaurant. My recommendation is to call your order in and avoid the wait.

Mrs. Camea Fields. The brisket at Hank's smoked brisket is very good and tender. I have also tried their ribeye steak which is very, very delicious. Most of all I enjoy the big hank. FYI the facility is very clean and the employees are prompt and pleasant with service.

We have been aware of this place and its reputation for quite some time. People swear by the quality of Hank’s smoked meat. He only offers carry out so we had to pick a nice day. That is the only reason I can come up as to why we were so tardy in coming here. That, and our horrid memories. Today was a beautiful day so we headed to Hank’s. They have a menu board on the wall, but I messed up the picture. Their sandwiches range from $6.50 to $8.50. Their sides are all $1.80. The brisket is $16 per pound and the smoked corn beef is $17.50. On Urbanspoon there is an older picture of the menu. The brisket prices have gone up since that was taken. Price increase or not the man sure can smoke some beef. And it is definitely butter my butt and call me bread good. Pat stopped and bought some buns on the way. We got one pound of brisket, one half pound of smoked corned beef and a side of potato salad and coleslaw. Conveniently there is a Dairy Queen next door, so we picked up a couple of chocolat
