Review Nine Irish Brothers - Indianapolis

Sarah Palios
Idk what everyone’s complaining about as far as food and service goes. Maybe someone who’s no longer here? We came for the first time tonight and lord almighty was it good. Amazing food. The goat balls were to die for. And the waitresses were freaking amaze-balls. Came back after the concert and even though it was busy they were still cool as hell. So coming back.

Ordered the corned beef and cabbage. Very, very flavorful and the taters were excellent! The only reason for 4-Stars is the incorrect cutting technique of the corned beef. This should always be sliced against the grain rather than with. As a foodie, this switch will promote more tender beef as well as better presentation. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor was amazing! But this shift could really take 9IB to the next level! Thank you for great food and service!

My husband and I stopped here, as it was across from our AirBnB on our first night in Indy. We took a quick Look at the menu and thought we’d enjoy it. We were absolutely right! There weren’t a lot of people at the time of our visit. The staff was wonderful, super friendly. Our food was delicious. I got the bangers and mash, and my husband got the shepard’s pie. We would definitely return if we ever visit Indy again.

Really fun place with a very cool vibe. Bartenders were nice and the prices were reasonable. The food was good. Try the Irish gold potatoes. Done to perfection. And this is barfood.!

I loved this place, the food is delicious, the beer is good too, and the Irish environment is nice. The waiters are pretty nice, and the service is good in general, I would like to return someday and taste more dishes and beers.

Cool corner bar with that great Irish pub feel. Stopped in on a Sunday for lunch and a couple of tall cold ones. The place was not busy at all, which I prefer. The server was pleasant and attentive. The salmon dinner was excellent and I nibbled on some fish and chips which I found to be delish as well. Highly recommended! I'm looking forward to a return visit. 5 ✨s

I am a travel nurse in Indianapolis and drive past Nine Irish Brother frequently and always said myself, “I really want to try that place”. Thank goodness I did! I felt like I walked into a local pub in Ireland. The Irish pub music was amazing, the atmosphere was was amazing, and the fish & chips….AMAZING! I am so glad that I extended my travel contract for another three months so that I can visit NIB many more times.

Great Food, pleasant atmosphere. Corned beef just the way I remember my Grandmother making it! Top notch staff that take great care, we did not have to ask for anything!

Solid Irish place. Great bangers. Could have Slightly better British beer selection.

First time eating a traditional Irish meal. We ordered 3 different items and all were great. And portions were large; one of our orders, guiness stew, was just a half size but only managed to eat about 1/3 of the dish. Great atmosphere and servers where very nice and helpful.

I have ate here twice and enjoyed my meal both times. Their West Lafayette location is one of my favorite restaurants, so I was glad to find the Mass Ave location was of similar quality. The last time I had the fish and chips (excellent), and this time I had the breaded tenderloin sandwich (okay, not great) with pub chips. My friend and I split pickle chips, which were pretty good. I would definitely eat here again.

June-2014-This seemed like a real Irish bar, to me. A group singing Irish songs, with some sing-along by the patrons. It was packed, being open only a week, and it is a huge space. I can tell that this is going to be a go-to place. My friend and I only had drinks, so, a later review will comment on the food.

Update-08.08.15-Second visit. Went early on a Saturday, around 5:30, and it was already busy. Matthew was our server and did a good job. I had the Veggie Burger, which was good, and the Corn Chowder, which was excellent. My wife had the Full Irish Breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, pub chips and a bread choice. She gave it a 10. I had some of her pub chips and loved them, especially with the spicey shamrock sauce. Will return some day.

Wont be back....false reviews make me run a mile. This place is the hottest in town....and I mean that literally. We came in Saturday night and aksed if they could switch on the ac as this place was Africa hot, we were told sorry we dont have ac in the winter...what does that mean exactly !!!. We actually didnt even finish our drinks as the temperature was so hot I was afraid one of us would pass out from heat exhaustation.
One thing I would say is that some of the reviews written about this place look very dubious to me, I am always wary to see reviews written by someone with the same name as the bar tender they are raving about, ..such and such was amaze balls, best service ever, and the reviewer has the same name especially if they join the same day they write that one review and never write any other reviews. These false reviews stand out a mile and make me very wary , we wont be back

Fantastic Lunch. Went in for lunch with 4 coworkers, two of us got the Rubens which were fantastic, one got the Irish Nachos which she loved and were huge, and two others got fish & chips that they are still raving about a month later. Wonderful & quick service.

Slainte!!. In the mood for some Irish pub grub? The latest addition to the Indy scene is 9 Irish Brothers located on Mass Avenue. Hearty fair perfect for Fall. The fried pickles with the car bomb sauce was wonderful. I don't know if they really eat fried pickles in Ireland but they would love these. Fish and chips were good with a really good spice on the chips. The best part is the Irish breakfast that has eggs, bacon, sausage and tomatoes - something we fell in love with when we visited Dublin. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere cozy. Definitely will be going back there.

Crap bar. The servers and bartenders are extremely proud of this establishment. I for one am not! workers here talking down to customers. ShitBar! shouldn't be open forlong

Not bad. Enjoyed the Shepherds Pie. This place does well in West Lafayette as there are so few decent choices near Purdue, but they may not do as well in the crowded Indy table scape.

Great fish and chips and a fine Irish breakfast make this a welcome addition to the Indy dining scene.

The fish (in the fish and chips) was greasy. The menu selection and ambiance was as expected.

GREAT PLACE TO EAT. Visited 9Irish this evening.. what an outstanding establishment! Did not know they were voted the best pint of Guinness in America by Guinness brewery themselves until I dined in tonight. They did not disappoint either, it WAS the best pint of Guinness I've ever had in my entire life. While we waited for a table to open up we got a pint at the bar from Donny, man is that guy hilarious! I would go there just based on the fact of him bartending, dude is amazing! Managed to snag a table and Kyle was our server, aside of amaze - balls Mustache, that guy had me rolling. Speedy and promt service, AND funny as hell. Had the fish and chips, hands down the best I've ever had. This isn't just any run of the mill Irish, this is 9 IRISH BROTHERS!!!!!

Great Sheperds Pie. My first time here. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. Also Jerry and Matt were a lot of fun to chat with. The shepherds pie was excellent. I will be definitely going back to try other dishes.

Corned beef. Very disappointed in the corn beef and cabbage. Corn beef very good, cabbage almost raw, no flavor, served with mashed potatoes rather than boiled potatoes. Soda bread seemed to be a dessert cake. Beer choices good, whiskey flight choices good and reasonably priced.

Lunch was great!. Sorry some other people had a bad experience. My family and I had lunch there and it was wonderful. The fish and chips were fresh. Fish was crunchy, chips were yummy and the slaw was delicious.
Our waitress was Paige. She was very sweet and knowledgeable.
We will return.

Fish and Chips. Sweet tender moist fish, freshly battered with delicious tasting crunchy batter. Wonderful homemade chips. slaw is fabulous too

Drunk rude manager matt ruined the experience. I heard so many good things i was very excited to go to the new place on mass ave. the food was overpriced and after receiving the wrong order the manager came over to see what was wrong. He was not only cocky and arrogant HE WAS DRUNK!!!!!!! My wife and I will probably never go to this pub again, its a shame because we live so close

Dinner at this establishment ruined our evening plans.. We thought it was taking quite long to get our check, after waiting and waiting we finally found our server who told us the computers were down and nothing could be done, we wouldn't be able to leave until they were fixed. I understand things like this can happen and I would have been understanding, however, the way we were spoken to and the way this was handled was the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. When I spoke to who I assume was the manager/owner confirmed that we would just have to wait. After at least 30 minutes I spoke with her again and explained that we had plans for after dinner and this was holding us up. She treated me as if I were annoying her and told me to speak to a man behind the bar who seemed also to be an owner/manager. I explained the situation and he too acted as if I was out of line. This seemed ridiculous to me. Finally, he told us we could leave and call back to pay our bill. I did call back four times the next day and couldn't reach anyone. No apology, no offer of a dessert or coffee while we waited and waited. This was terrible service at the end of a very average meal. There are so many other better establishments, don't waste your time or money going here.

Very disappointed. Over priced for one, and avoid the corned beef and cabbage, stringy pieces (no slices at all) of the corned beef and the cabbage was way under cooked

Irish Music?. An Irish Gentleman is someone who knows how to play Irish music, but doesn't. This is a good pub, but the music can empty half the joint as soon as it starts.

I'm a huge fan of Irish pubs and was so excited for this to open... My expectations were exceeded 100%! The food was awesome, but our server, Matt, was possibly the best server I have ever had in my life. He was knowledgeable about the food and the beer and made awesome suggestions, he was extremely friendly and attentive and took a genuine interest in us. 5 out of 5 all the way!

Okay. This joint hit Indy this summer. It’s a home-grown “chain”. Which means they started in Lafayette Indiana, expanded to West Lafayette and eventually opened another joint in Indy. They managed to secure a spot at the corner of Boardwalk and Park Place. That is to say they found a very nice location and did it proud. The place is large and nicely appointed. You can tell they have a good idea as to how to run a business. From what I could read on the reviews the place was not received very well. Pat and Fran went there at opening and had mixed thoughts about food and prices. They have a nice presence on the Net however there are no prices listed. I find that somewhat disconcerting. What I found was a fine little pub with some decent food and competitive prices. We ordered the goat cheese fritter appetizer. Little croquettes of breaded goat cheese on a bed of mixed greens with a raspberry vinaigrette. Actually it was not too bad. The slightly sour cheese, bitter greens and a sweet raspberry dressing made for a tasty bite. Cost: $ 8.45. Our server, Holleh did an excellent job at service. She was on top of Pat’s onion aversion. She told him that the mashed potatoes had onion in them. Imagine that. He ordered a half order of corn beef and cabbage subbing house chips for the mashed potatoes. Their chips are thick slices of fried potato. . This is my lunch. It is a new addition to the menu. They call it a Fisherman’s Pie. A take off on a Shepherd’s Pie. It was very interesting. It came out in an 8 or 10 ounce crock. A healthy portion for $7.45. It was a blend of salmon, white fish, shrimp and veggies in a cream sauce. Covered with mashed potatoes and cheese. Well. Your first taste, naturally was tater and cheese. Then you hit the cream sauce. Tasty, but overwhelming. There was no texture in the dish. The salmon was like the white fish. Which was like the shrimp. Or the vegetables. The flavor was all about the sauce. . I thought it was tasty I just didn’t taste the f
