Historic Steer-in Restaurant - Indianapolis - Photo album

This is my second time visiting here and will always make this a stop if passing through Indianapolis. It’s small and quaint, with that true nostalgic home town feel. You walk in and everyone knows each other. Very friendly staff that treats you like a regular. The food though…. The food is absolute
Great little diner with that old fashioned atmosphere and really good food. My dad loved the chicken livers, the rest of us had pork tenderloin sandwiches. Yum! Their coconut cream pie was excellent, too.
The Steer-In is an east side institution. If you like tasty no frills diners, this is a great option. The meatball sub was fantastic, fries were good and our server was super friendly. The beef and noodles is a classic. Comforting old school vibe with neat signage out front. The food took a bit long
Stopped by this afternoon 5/27 for some take out. This is a small quaint dinner with a long history (since 1960) of great food and service. This is a favorite of the locals and gets busy early. I grew up near this plain little diner and have only recently returned. You’ll find nothing fancy here, ju
We found this place through DDD and the food was excellent! Large portions and delicious- pork tenderloin sandwich w/onion rings and lasagna are what we tried. Fast service too. Yum!
I took my mom here for an early Mother's Day lunch. The food was delicious and the waitresses were amazing. The onion rings were perfectly crispy, and the Mac and cheese was some of the best I've ever had. My mom got the pork tenderloin sandwich with fries and they were both excellent. This was our
Today I enjoyed the Vegetable Beef soup from the Daily Special Board and a Root Beer Float. The soup was rich and flavorful. A meal by itself. The vanilla ice-cream in the float was one of the best I've ever had. On previous visits I have enjoyed the corned beef hash. They make their own corned be
I remember eating here as a kid over 30 years ago and it is still awesome. Still has that diner feeling and the servers are genuine and fun to talk to. I stsrted with chicken livers had an amazing double steer burger and fries with a side of their delicious fried mushrooms. Even though the food i
Friendly old style diner with reasonable prices. We ordered the Hoosier tenderloin (tender & juicy) with great onion rings & a order of the daily special sweet deviled eggs. This was a Triple D stop for us & we happy we did.
First time here. With more visits to come! I don't even know where to start. I had the beef in noodles, mashed potatoes w/brown grave, and sweet corn. The appearance, taste, and serving portions were awesome! My husband had the western BBQ sandwich and fries. One thing we love is when places use
This was my first time eating here and I had such a great experience. The food was phenomenal and our server, Sadie, was even better. She was very patient with me while I asked several questions, and she was very sweet and polite. We received our food fast during lunch time. I will be back to try ma
First time here and went because of being on drive in, diners and dives... it was busy so you you have to be patient for your food but it was so worth the wait !! Very friendly and awesome food and service ... The best onion rings ever!! Perfectly coated, crispy and non greasy! The burger was great
This place may not look like much but I’ve never eaten lasagna at a restaurant. And I LOVED it. Everyone was satisfied with the service and the food and that so rarely happens. Check backs were done without having to ask. And napkins kept coming. There is a reason this place has been on TV. It was g
What an awesome little diner in Indianapolis. I asked my Uncle to take us to a great local flavor restaurant for Breakfast before we left town. He did not disappoint with this joint!! The portions were HUGE, the service was good and the little diner was adorable. I highly recommend this place for br
our group of 6 walked right in and sat down on a busy sunday morning. place was packed, which is always a good sign, and the service was efficient. the coffee was decent, which is a baseline for me when it comes to an establishment's breakfast fare. (it wasn't spectacular or anything, but it can be
Nice classic diner experience. This is a very popular place to eat at judging by the traffic in and out. Waitresses were kind and attentive. Food was good. Nothing stood out as exceptional, but there were no complaints. It might be a little over-hyped from the triple D experience. I guess that
Great diner away from the city. It's worth the drive out. Service (by Sofia) was fantastic and was a pleasure to chat with. The pork tenderloin was delicious. Left the bread, lettuce, and tomato aside and just had the tenderloin with pickles and tatertots. Wow! Suggested they start creating their ow
Great lunch and service. I had the pork tenderloin sandwich, and chicken livers, wife had beef and noodles. Chicken livers were a bit over cooked. Will go back for another try.
