I had a Reuben with a side of their potato salad. Both were interesting, with the Reuben on toast, not grilled. I prefer it grilled, but that's my preference. It was still a good sandwich. Their potato salad is prepared in-house. I liked it enough so I made some like it at home. It has a mustard forward flavor, and is quite sweet, but not unpleasantly so. I will definitely return. One thing to note is the staff. They are terrific. They asked me repeatedly if everything was to my liking and if they could get me anything else. Yes, indeed, I will return.
Groucho's has me going against my norm in a few ways: 1) While not a traditional "deli" that we are used to, Groucho's definitely makes a good sandwich! 2) I normally prefer a more toasted sub roll, but their soft rolls really are very very good. 3) We usually try to go to a new place each time we go out, but we've already been back to Groucho's. On top of that, when we do visit somewhere more than once we usually try to order something different, but the STP Dipper is amazing so we just had to get it again. All in all, I have a feeling we'll continue to come back for quite some time as they really have some good food.
The food is awesome. Honestly, you can't get a better sandwich. Ive been 4 or 5 times now, and the only complaint I have is, I can never understand what I paid for. The Big Dipper, that I like is 7.99 I believe. And I always switch the chips for the 0.99 4 oz pasta salad, which is, of course, delicious. But my price is always 13 dollars... like 13 and some change. And it's not because I get the 9 inch 2.99 add on, cause I specifically say the 6 inch. I just want to know why I always pay almost 5 more dollars than the menu says. And it's happened everytime, so maybe im missing something?
