100% WORTH IT. AS SOMEONE WHO'S FAMILY BACKGROUND IS GHANAIAN. I WAS QUITE HAPPY WITH THE FOOD AND WOULD RECOMMEND TO HAVE SOME GREAT WEST AFRICAN EATS. ALTHOUGH YOU MIGHT WANT TO COME A BIT EARLIER IN THE EVENING AS THE BEEF STEW WAS GREAT SOME WAS A BIT ROUGH. MY FRIENDS & I WERE SATISFIED THE WAITRESS WAS AWESOME AND GAVE ME SOME GARI TO TAKE HOME. YOU MADE THIS BITTHDAY BOY QUITE HAPPY WITH YOUR SERVICE & THE LIVE MUSIC AND DECOR WAS A1 9.5/10 WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The bartender is absolutely amazing personality and customer service. The soup (especially the spicy pepper soup) is absolutely delicious. My only con is that you do not get a lot of food at this restaurant. You may order an entree but it is more like a tapa. The oxtails are mostly bones with sauce. Not sure about the other dishes but unless it's the soup don't come here if you are remotely hungry.

Bukom Cafe is a place I visited the first time I came to DC in 2016. I loved the ambiance with life music as soon as you come in the door. Patrons were dancing and regulars seemed to be like extended family. The energy was lively and the food was great. Fast forward to 2019, I was taken to Bukom as a surprise by a good friend, but my inviter didn't know that I had been there before. I have been there 5 times since 2019 and I have to say, the food is always good. I have had tried different other West African restaurants in the DMV area, but none of them could match them. Of course due to Covid things have changed, but you can still eat there with limited tables and the food is still unmatched! They never disappoint! My favorite is the Okra soup with Banku, Beef Suya and the Spicy Pepper Soup!

This was my first time eating here and I thought the food was just wonderful. The staff were very attentive and friendly. They made sure our needs were met and even while the place was busy and their were o let two guys they did a fantastic job I would recommend this place again. Also the music was very nice and family friendly 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Tried Egusi and fufu for the first time here and would go back for it often. Food was very delicious until this last time…. I found hair… HAIRS! (multiple) in my food. If I would have ate inside with the restaurant’s dark setting I probably wouldn’t have seen it. I was so disgusted, they have lost the etiquette of sanitation WEAR A HAIR NET

It's very disappointing that the size of the pounded yam is rather too small that you literally do not need 3 tea spoons of egusi to finish it even though the egusi wasn't even all that. I am more disappointed by the so called pepper soup. Its just a mix of water n tomato paste. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this is just a bad experience to represent values of an africa food. Thanks
