De-ranch Restaurant

I come here often go Egusi soup served with pounded yam . I got turned on here by my friend and I have been coming ever since then. If you are used to authentic African food you will know that De Ranch is the real deal. The people that matters in Africa community eat here De Ranch is actually for the elite in African and Caribbean food If you ever think that the food is tasteless or not good enough for you, you must have the wrong taste bud. I will advise the fake reviewers to go to someone where else

Man I should’ve read the reviews before wasting my time and money at this establishment. First, it took forever to place my order and close to an hour to walk out with my food. I grew up eating jollof rice so my expectations were high and boy was I disappointed! This definitely ain’t right! It was more of like under flavored parboiled rice with tomato paste and microwaved frozen fried plantains. And to make matters worse, I saw what looked like an eyelash in the “stew”. What a waste of $18! I haven’t tried anything else on their menu so I can’t much about them but stay away from the “jollof rice”

Came in for lunch with my friend from Texas, after a long drive from New Jersey to see the White House and other tourist site in the DMV area. As much he enjoyed the tour, the food was all he talked about. I had abacha and he had isiewu, let's just say there was nothing to put in the trash after we were done. 😁 Yeah, it was that good. I highly recommend! 👍

I'm not sure how the restaurant received 4.5 stars because the food definitely didn't taste like a 4 star. The jollof rice didn't have any aroma or taste to it. No hint of thyme, curry or chicken seasoning was present. I grew up eating jollof rice and egusi stew and what I had today was a disappointment. The stew ontop of the jollof rice tasted like tomatoe paste, I had to scrap it off the rice. Please don't waste your money at this place. It takes at least 1 hour to make a good quality jollof rice and this rice tasted like it took less than 30 mins with minimum effort. I was really hoping for a good experience for a restaurant rated 4.5 but instead I received a one star experience. The only good quality about the food was the plantain which you can't really mess up but you only get 3 pieces 🤷🏿‍♂️. So the owner responded that I'm a fake, I bought 4 plate from this restaurant and it's a shame they can't accept honest criticism. I included another pic to show the pale color of the jollof rice toped with tomato paste. Smh

My experience at De Ranch has been one of excellence and superior service. The ambiance of this West African restaurant cannot be compared to others. It’s extremely neat, clean, and the decor cannot be compared to other restaurants in the area. It sells and serves a variety of African American palatable and tasty dishes. The different foods are prepared and served as ordered. The waitress and staff are very polite and friendly. If you have not visited this restaurant, I urge you to come by and try it for yourself.
