The Beach At Sand Hollow

Great place for low-key lake fun! The lake isn't the biggest, but it's plenty big enough to have some fun. The people working the place are super laid back (in both good and bad ways), so it's a really nice place to chill. I was very impressed with the burgers they serve! The meal set is reasonably priced, and the charring from the grill was just perfect. Definitely upgrade your drink to the BASH frozen drink, it's the best.

So We had a great time on the lake! My boyfriends 1st time on a jet ski! Only my 3rd time. The lake is big enough to keep 1st timers entertained and the views are beautiful! The reason for the 4 stars is because we rented two days in a row my sisters came out and rented as well the second day. No one greeted us with warm welcome and we were not told thank you. When I’m spending that much money simple “hey how you doing and well thanks so much have a great time” would be nice. One of our jet skis had a warning light come up and my boyfriend took it back in the guy at the water could not help us do to the fact that he just got his tattoo done. Not sure why he is the one at the water helping people if you just got tattoo done. Next guy was very helpful and polite he added more time for inconvenience and got us a faster jet ski! He definitely made up for tattoo guy! We had a great time on the lake! And would definitely recommend the experience!

Overall it's a nice place. The staff are really friendly and know what they're doing. The reason for the 3 stars is because the driver's seat of the boat we rented fell apart while I was sitting on it which caused a very dangerous situation where no one was steering the boat for a few seconds. We were very lucky not to have crashed into other boaters. The staff were very concerned and gave us a full refund. Their other toys looked to be in very good repair but their boats are aging. I would avoid planning a trip around the ski boats but everything else would be fine.

Rented a jet ski for a couple hours. The first jet ski was beeping at us from the start, employee told us it was fine. We listened and took off but the jet ski would just shut down on us constantly. After 15 minutes we returned to the dock and they gave us another jet ski. Before taking off we noticed this new jet ski had the check engine light on, once again the employee told us it was fine. After 30 minutes the jet ski died on us and wouldn’t start again. Luckily a friend had a jet ski near us and was able to go let the employees know that ours had died. They took roughly 30 minutes to get over to us, which is no biggie due being a busy day. By this point we were over the whole experience. Manager was super unpleasant. Would not recommend.

The girls at the counter were so sweet and knowledgeable. The cost of renting the boat was a little over priced especially for a boat that was filthy inside with a broken speedometer. The young man who gave us the instructions and demo ride was helpful and efficient. The first tube we got went flat in the first ride but they were quick to exchange it for a better one.

Water is clear and warm. The beach has super fine sand is pleasent to walk in... However it gets insanely hot. In fact so not attempt to walk in it bare foot as a person in our party received second degree burns attempting to walk from the water to the road... ouch! Boat rentals are fair priced and the boats are in general in good working order.

They have a lot of rentals to choose from and their prices are fair. Staff was pretty friendly but a little on the lazy side. The customer service was poor...we rented a boat a little before 3 and they didn't actually get it to the dock until 4 and then still had one other family to take out for instruction before getting to us (they were not busy at all!!! It was because they don't keep the boats at the dock and apparently it takes an hour to get the boat from storage??) If they would have communicated this time discrepancy, we would have been able to work with them/move some things around to make it work, but as it was, we ended up getting our money back as we ran out of time to actually enjoy the boat and get the rest of stuff done. Big bummer

We paid $813 for 4 hours for a boat that was advertised as a 12 passenger surf boat. The very old and rickety boat was a 12 passenger boat but it was definitely not a surf boat. It was an old wakeboard boat with no ballast system or surf system. The rope they gave us was a wakeboard rope and not a surfing rope. Our group of 10 made the best of it but I really do feel that they are false advertising on their website when they advertise it as a surf boat because it definitely isn’t. Also, we had it reserved from 1:30-5:30 but when we got there we were told it wouldn’t be ready until 2:00. However they did throw in a free board and gave us until 6:00 so we still got out full 4 hours with the boat which was nice of them to do. The staff was all very friendly but didn’t seem super knowledgeable when it came to the boats. The guy that showed us the boat and reviewed the rules with us told us that it was his second day on the job and his first day there was the day day before and that day was his first day he’d ever even driven a boat. The area is nice and we had a good time but I just wish they would have been more honest on their website with the description of the boat so we weren’t misled.
