I wanted a snack last Saturday so I decided to try out a pizza spot close to my house. When I walked in
I saw it was rather busy. The staff greeted me immediately. The guy who took my order was super nice. I ordered a few slices, the garlic knots, and a beef patty. I just had to try it all. The food was done in 5 mins or less. I got home and was surprised that I had found a gem so close to home. I would def recommend this place to anyone looking for great pizza with a NY feel.
Pizza whole or by the slice, they have Sicilian style too! Just delicious. They have entrees and salads also. Even Gelato. The margherita slice was excellent.
They have 14, 16, and 18 inch size New York style pizzas. Or you can order the pizza by the slice. They also have 3 different types of pizzas, a whole host of other choices from subs, to spaghetti 🍝 and lasagna. We ordered 7 New York style pizza 🍕 slices. 2 sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and extra cheese 🧀. 1 pepperoni, mozzarella and basil. 2 sausage, pepperoni, onion 🌰, and 2 pepperoni. We was there around 6:30pm on a Saturday. It was not crowded and there were only 5 people dinning inside, there is no outside seating. Customer service was great we walked in and ordered. I'm not a New Yorker and I have not had a big slice of pizza in New York so keep that in mind when I give my 2 cents about the pizza. The only thing that I did not like about the pizza was it either was not enough sauce or not enough flavor in the sauce or both. All the ingredients were very good I had extra cheese on my 2 sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions slices with plenty of cheese 🧀. There are plenty of other things to come back and try. Like the beef patties, italian ice, gelato, meatball parmigiana sub and garlic rolls to name a few. I will be back to try some other things from their menu.
Great pizza and calzone. The slices are big and taste is really good.
Good food and friendly staff. The only critique is a personal preference which is the Margarita Pizza was covered in mozzarella which is not what I was accustomed to in NYC. I found the mozzarella taste and texture a bit over powering for my liking but agian that's just a personal preference. As far as New York style goes the cheese slice was spot on.
A rare pizza gem tucked away in the suburbs of Charlotte. The pizza is hot, fresh, delicious. The atmosphere is electric with diners enjoying, anticipating, returning. The staff is efficient, friendly, and proud. My family’s favorites are the chicken parmigiana pizza and the pizza with all the meats. We’ve been ordering time and time again for many years.
So I LOVE the food here - the pizza is really great NY style - very authentic, good quality toppings. I love that they sell by-the-slice, makes it perfect for a quick lunch or if you take the kids. I've also had several of their hot subs and they are really really good. A big surprise here - their chicken parm dinner here is one of the best around - even better than the 'big name' Italian spots - its a huge winner. Only reason for missing a star - the service. No one in here is ever friendly. They are very matter-of-fact, no smiles, no jokes, I always feel like they're upset to be there. GRANTED, I'm Southern - and have a different expectation of friendly than NY - BUT - this shop isn't in NY - its in NC. If I could give em 4.5, I would - the food is that good, the 'service' just keeps it from being as fun as it could be.
Whenever my travels takes me anywhere close to Due Amici Pizza, I've got to stop for a slice or preferably a whole pie. So far I've tried six or eight different pies or slices every slice has been absolutely delicious. Definitely a five star pizza joint.
