Reviews of Zydeclaws

I stumbled upon Zydeclaws a few years ago. They are only open for crawfish season. I absolutely love the taste of the crawfish and their customer service is great. I usually order 5lbs of crawfish with corn, potatoes, and sausage. The crawfish is flavored well and has a kick in spice. They generally open at 4 and close at 9.

Pretty good food no complaints. They could purge the crawfish a little more though but awesome crawfish and boudin sausage ect.. went back another time and the dining inside does unfortunately close at 8. On the other hand who says you can't take it home with you..? They have a drive through window that stays open an additional hour [till 9] my second visit the crawfish were HUGE and everything was amazing!

Shame on you, Zydeclaws!. I just moved to the area from Louisiana and was happily surprised to see a couple of drive through boiled crawfish places nearby. I thought those were a Louisiana phenomenon! So tonight I tried Zydeclaws but was rather disappointed.<br/><br/>The place where I used to get boiled shrimp sold the shrimp and sides (corn and potatoes) separately. At Zydeclaws, you can get a pound of boiled shrimp (headless and deveined) with 1 corn on the cob and 2 small potatoes for $12. Not bad, I thought, until she handed me the bag. It felt really light. When I got home, I wanted to see if I had received the pound I'd paid for so I broke out my food scale. Nope. 10 OUNCES. And this was meant to feed 2 people.<br/><br/>I have to say, I liked the fact that the shrimp were deveined (back in Louisiana they weren't) and the flavor of the shrimp was good. I found the potatoes & corn sort of bland as if they weren't boiled in the same seasonings as the shrimp. But when I only get a little over half of what I pay for that's not going to make me want to return. Maybe they "weigh" differently here? Like put the corn & potatoes on the scale then add shrimp to make a pound? <br/><br/>I'm going to try the other place I drove by and see how they compare.
