We went to the dam to go fishing and stopped here after. This place has the oldest liquor license in Michigan. The staff were kind enough to tell us the history, as well as show/describe the pictures on the walls. They made a couple of out-of-towners feel very welcome! We did not eat, so I could not score them on that, but I gave them a five because the drinks were served in chilled glasses, and the beer was ice cold. I'm so glad we made the pit stop!!
Food is the best..the fries are amazing...its that perfect hole in the wall bar that you want to see...I highly recommend visiting this bar you won't be disappointed.
Shiel's Tavern is a good place to have a bar burger or nachos and play a game of pool while having a couple of drinks. Good customer service! Nice atmosphere. Michigan's oldest liquor license. St Patrick's Day draws the biggest crowd of the year. Many special events planned through the year. Opened in 1878.

Michigans Oldest! You gotta love it. If your coming to Hubbardston you got to stop at Shiels, beers cold the food is hot and the staff are great. Try it, you'll like it.
Evelyn is great, lots of fun. The venue was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Our guys felt very comfortable. As soon as they arrived they were treated with a lot of respect. The food was also great. Customers were very nice and enjoyed the performance. Thank you for having our guys come perform there. We look forward to having them come there again next year!
Great little small village pub with bragging rights. Being the oldest registered bar in Michigan and an Irish Pub as well.
The employee was by herself and a group of 6 came in and all ordered appetizers, lunch and drinks and she knocked it out in no time. The fried pickles are delicious and I left already craving more of them! All of our other food was delicious as well. There was shuffle board and pool to play while you wait. Overall it was a good experience.
Oldest operating bar in Michigan good people and a good time everytime one of my favorite watering holes in the county and I've evaluated juke joints and clubs from flagstaff to Florida it's on the top of list 👌
