Ammas Kitchen

Tried the buffet and it was good. Some dishes tasted great especially sambar and some dry chicken dishes are good. They have breakfast like pongal which is great but the upma is not, well it's not hot so no judgement there. Special mention to the desserts especially carrot halwa and rava laddu is full of sugar. But the customer service is great, they patiently waited for us to eat even though it's past their closing time and waited till we are satisfied. I really liked the service.

Love Amma’s. A colleague from out of town, who visits about once a month, today said “best food I have had in Houston”! I have only been for lunch buffet, so I can’t speak for non buffet.. the buffet keeps changing, so I get to try so many dishes I would never get to try otherwise. Fantastic! Can’t recommend highly enough. Staff very friendly too.

Excellent food! This is a great place for lunch buffet and dinner. The quality of the food is very good and can tell that they are serving fresh food and not frozen or reheated. Their dry fruit special ice cream is a must try. I heard they will be shortly serving Indian style ice creams. Can’t wait to try. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone!

The flavors are amazing and the buffet has so many delicious options. You MUST try the pickled mango and cauliflower. Try ALL the chutneys! The food alone is worth a revisit, but what made me fall in love with this place is the staff. I accidentally arrived too early for my lunch meeting and said I would be back in 30 min. The lovely staff member said, "you will do no such thing- relax, have some salad while you wait, no one will ask why you are sitting" I felt right at home :)

Food was excellent! The taste was very close to what you get in India. I have visited this restaurant three times in a week already. The dishes on their buffet changes everyday and I loved all the dishes I have tried there so far. No preservatives and very clean environment. Wish I could give them more stars. Hope they keep up the taste.
