Review Shell Shack - Houston

Went here 2 weeks ago with my husband and our 2 year old. Loved the food, the boil was perfect and my sons order was plenty for him. I got the fried shrimp and the breading was perfect. Tartar sauce is on point! Our waitress was very helpful in explaining the menu and very attentive. We will definitely be back thank you!

Pretty nice atmosphere, pretty decent food and the prices weren’t horrible. I can definitely see myself returning here with a few friends, family or even a date. I ordered the crab meat grilled cheese and my mother ordered the grilled shrimp. We didn’t leave hungry or disappointed. I personally wanted more meat within my dish but other than that everything was tasty. I don’t remember the name of the bartender who served me but he had locs and was very charming. I would recommend this place to a friend.

Great atmosphere. Diverse audience. Food seasoned well. Only that Cajun is not mud - Cajun is in the spice. Maria, the waitress was nice. The staff has a mellow vibe. Drinks aren't as stiff but taste good. It was an experience.

This place is great. The kitchen sink flavor is AMAZING!! I’m probably going to get that flavor over cajun next time. The crawfish were a tad small right now, so I’m excited to go back in the coming months. We ordered the fried pickles & calamari for apps and they did not disappoint.

The place has a super cool vibe. Small parking lot. Delicious food, beer, HUGE Oysters!!! Our server was a disaster... I asked for a beer and my beer glass was chipped (cut my lip), he dropped our calamari. We DID tip tho! I have a friend that lives across the street and goes that often... Maybe the server was having a bad day or he was new. Who knows!?

Hey! We returned for a second experience a week or 2 ago… We requested the same server, Antonio and he was just as amazing as the first time. Though the prices here aren’t the best, they’re for sure not the worst. Me and my boyfriend barely spend over $50. They have a nice lunch menu that goes until about 4pm that has great deals. I will also recommend the Sangria!!! I decided to get the same shrimp as last time because it was so good!!!

Quick seating for a Sat. nite....had a wide range of seafood...alligator tails quite interesting smh...Grandson like fried shrimp n burger 2go. Oyster fried was decent too.

This was our first time and will NOT be our last. It was SO good, the crab tots are so amazing, the Nashville chicken sandwich was good and the crawfish was THE best. T was our server and she did an amazing job of recommending and making us feel welcome. The manager walked around a few times asking everyone how they were enjoying and it was just a great experience. Thank you for great food and service! I will also add it was extremely clean and they're quick to clear those tables, which I can appreciate being in industry myself. See yall soon!

I've been coming to Shell Shack since before the pandemic! My dad and I love to eat here together on special occasions, and I enjoy celebrating events here. Tonight was my 21st birthday and the wonderful, amazing staff made it special for me. They brought me a yummy birthday cheesecake and made sure my food was fresh, juicy, and hot! The prices are a little on the steep side, but I honestly can't complain when the service and food is as good as it is. The flavoring on all the food was great, the freshness of my crab and shrimp was wonderful, and the catfish was a good finisher for the night! I honestly love coming here. I wish I could do it more often!

My sister is visiting from out of town and she wanted seafood. We happened to be in the area running errands. We looked up seafood and came upon this place and decided to check it out.This was a first time for all of us. The parking lot is small and could be particularly difficult, but luckily we were there during off peak hours, so parking was easy. The inside is cool. There's a patio and upstairs to sit, although this day it was closed. And it was hot.... so no sitting outside anyway. Friendly hostess greeted us as we walked in and then sat us down. The waitress was friendly. We arrived during happy hour and we put our drink orders in before HH was over. We ordered appetizers and food. Y'all food is yummy and those CrabTatorTots are the bomb!! You only get like 6 though. Calamari was good. Our food consisted of mainly shrimp and fries. Food was delicious and seasoned well. My garlic shrimp, came (cooked) with the skin still on (see photo) and I didn't care too much for that. But the fried shrimp didn't. The waitress didn't come back to see if we wanted our 2nd HH drinks. We had to find her. (It wasn't busy.) I would go back again. But I won't get the garlic shrimp next time and will go during off-peak hours to avoid full parking lot dilemmas.

I love trying various restaurants in and around the Houston area and after a suggestion and even reading the mixed reviews, Shell Shack was a HIT!! We arrived on a Sunday at noon, self parking was available and the crowd hadn't started yet. Entering the doors we were greeted with a smile and sat down on the patio to take in the nice weather. We tried something from each part of the menu starting with the adult Cherry Limeade and Strawberry Lemonade. For an appetizer the suggested Crab Stuffed tater tots and naked wings were yummy and cooked to perfection. Next up, was the Buffalo Shrimp with a medium sauce for heat served with fresh cut fries and blue cheese dressing. The main course we chose The Date Night (this included King Crab claws, Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage in their famous Kitchen rub/sauce) and it was more than enough for two. Let me tell you, I was miserable from not wanting to eat it all that we had to cancel dessert. Everything was amazing from the customer service from Rose, the atmosphere (I would only suggest more of a variety music station-pop was cool, but😏 and an outdoor tv for patio guest) is relaxed, and of the food is superb. Thanks for the dining experience and I had to get PINK Shell Shack t-shirt to go. 2 thumbs up!!

It was another yummy to my tummy moment service started kinda shaky but she turned out to be great. It is a lil pricey but it Is seafood. We had the date night and the boss platter. An awesome place to relax solo and enjoy a meal and great for big gatherings with outside seating. Standard full bar making great drinks and the oysters I had were very good. Ill definitely be back.

This was our (my wife & I) first visit to Shell Shack. It kind of had a sports bar meets seafood kind of vibe to it. Now that I think about it, the place kind of reminds me of Joe's Crab Shack. It seemed to be a pretty cool place. You have your choice of low or high tables. There are televisions mounted all around the entire place. If you're looking to watch tv, there are no bad seats in the place. My wife really enjoys seafood and wanted to check out the place. I'm really not into seafood anymore, but I always jump on the opportunity for us to go out and spend time together. Since I have ventured away from seafood, I ordered 10 crispy buffalo wings. I'm a big fan of tater tots and ordered some of those, even though they were stuffed with crab.(they come as an order of 6 as an appetizer) I also had a scoop of hazelnut gelato after I finished my food. My wife had the Boss Platter that consisted of 2 fried catfish fillets, 8 fried shrimps, fries, and hush puppies. My wife enjoyed her food. It was a different story for me. I was already prepared that I might not like the wings that much since their wings are crispy. That is not my preferred method, but that's all they offer. They were decent. If you like crispy wings, you will enjoy them. I did not enjoy the tater tots at all. Stuffing them with crab was not a pleasant experience for me. I'll stick to my traditional tater tots that I prepare at home. The only thing that I enjoyed was the gelato. Definitely can't go wrong with that. Despite not enjoying the food, I enjoyed spending time with my wife and I'm happy that at least she enjoyed her food. I also want to mention that some of the menu items get a little pricey, but that is to be expected when dealing with seafood. They also have specials that you can acquire about during your visit since I do not believe they're available everyday. They also have happy hour Monday-Friday from 4-7 and all day Sunday. This only applies to drinks. They do not offer food items as part of their happy hour. I asked our waitress since most places do offer happy hour food items and I'm not a drinker. I must add that our service was pretty decent. We had a young lady training and she does need some more training, but she did well to just be starting out. The young lady training her stopped to check on us and I feel that she is the right person to be training her. It was an overall nice experience. I doubt that we will return since it just doesn't seem like a place that we would frequent that often. I would encourage anyone to try them out that likes seafood.

Suuuuuuuuper excited a location is opening up in Houston!!! We were obsessed with Shell Shack in Plano and recently moved back to Houston so this just made my year!!! Hands down the best seafood Crawfish, crab, catfish, hush puppies, tartar sauce to die for
