The Clubs Of Kingwood

I participated in a work holiday luncheon here yesterday, and had a good time! Everything was set up nice, tables nicely spaced out (you could easily walk between them even with people sitting down), the cutest little placement set ups, Christmas trees everywhere, and the food tasted really good! But, I really want to call out one employee I noticed while we were here. Claudia. She came over to our table, tended to us continuously, was quick, and even watching her work the room, she never stopped moving/doing. She was multitasking, making sure people were all good, brought things what were asked, and had a smile on her face the entire time. The energy she held was top notch in eyes! So shout out to Claudia for being so great!!!

My husband and I joined The Clubs of Kingwood over two years ago, and our experience continues to get better as time goes on. We frequent Tavern 91 for dinner, especially Steak on the Lake, and during the summer, we're at the pool at least once/week. The adult pool is a nice escape, and their no-children policy is strictly enforced (even when parents try to sneak their kids in the area). The only slight complaint I'd have with the pool is the amount of dead bugs in the afternoon. Aside from that, the poolside service is terrific, and the cocktails are always a treat. I have a bad gluten allergy and mentioned it in one of the surveys I received. I noted there isn't gluten-free bread offered at the tavern or grill, and on top of the club reaching out, Chef Bruce emailed to confirm it's an option, though not on the current menu. That meant the world to me. Additionally, since Chef Bruce joined the club, the food is absolutely stellar (it was wonderful before, but he's brought it up a notch). The scallops, fish tacos, truffle fries, and pizza are among our favorite offerings. If you're on the fence about joining, it's absolutely worth every penny. The service is exceptional, and the amenities can't be beat.

I have been going to the country club most of my life. It is a beautiful golf course. The scenery is beautiful. The gym is small but well kept and functional. They have a great stand alone event center that is nice. The pool has two water slides and a lazy river. The downsides are the parking is awful. The last few events I have attended the wait staff were not very professional. The pool has zero shade. You can rent a Cabana but there is no shade over the pool.

Our team went here on Thursday night for our dinner. Our waitress was nice and friendly but she was so busy so service was not really good. She took orders quickly but it took at least 30 minutes to get our foods or drinks to come out. Foods were ok but the dessert - tiramisu - was amazing. We did complain about the service with a restaurant manager and he apologized for everything and they’re trying to hire new employees. Hopefully next time we come back, service should be better!
