Chinese Star Restaurant - Houston - Photo album

I normally do take out, so I don't know much of the dine in experience. But they're food is pretty good! I like that they have vegetarian options. The staff is always friendly. Orders usually take 10-15 mins, not too bad in my opinion. Their smoothies with tapioca are good and they have different fl
BEST place to grab food on UH Campus! Owner is a little cold, but she's been at it a while. Her food is brilliant. Go there enough and as soon as you walk in she'll have your usual order written down. I love this place and will probably come to UH Only to eat here after I graduate.
I've never had a bad experience from the dozens of times I've eaten here over the years. Never gotten sick, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for an order, never had bad quality or cold food. The owner always greets us with a smile, is patient when we take a while to decide what we want to order
Chinese star is amazing because it is open literally every day that nothing else is open. The food is good too and for a great price. Not to mention their smoothies are delicious as well. The food portions are very big so you can save half of your food and have it for dinner or a snack later honestl
Always reliable and well-priced food option. The portions are very reasonable - I don't know how people can say they're overpriced when you get more (and better) food here than you would at, say, Panda Express. The appetizers especially are an incredible deal. You can make a fairly large meal for
I have been going to C.S. since I was attending UH, which was approximately 11 years ago. I tend to order one specific dish, which is the General Tso's and fried rice, so I can't tell you if their other dishes are as delicious. But I can say this dish is delish, and they are fairly consistent with
Amazing food. We have been eating here for more than 20 years. The owners are very nice and always remember us. UH is messing up by not renewing their lease! Somebody is probably getting a kickback from Aramark.
A true UH tradition. Definitely not the best Chinese in town but if you are a broke undergrad student looking for a filling meal on the cheap, this is the place to go. They also have a separate vegetarian menu.
Lo Mein noodles is one of my favorite and Milk tea is too sweet. Fried rice with seafood dishes are really nice and I would prefer to go after 2 pm. Beacuse this place is very crowded at the lunch time
Home cooked food is always a little greasy and delicious just like The Star. You want bland and full of msg then go to panda express, lol. The wonderful, always friendly family who has owned the place since it was in the old building (parking lot now) will make whatever you want @ request. These stud
I have eaten at many Chinese restaurants from mom & pop holes in the wall to Pei Wei and I have never found one that I like half as much as Chinese Star. The food is tasty and the proportion of meat is generous, unlike most Chinese restaurants. Although I graduated a year ago, I still go back when
A favorite among students, staff and faculty of University of Houston. Food is good and affordable. Can be really pack during lunch hours. They have daily lunch specials.
The general tso is the best! Highly recommend this place! I love it here because she gives you big portions! Please don't listen to the bad ratings, I'm sure it depends on what you order.
Fairly good place to grab food in UH. Price is affordable and portions are big. My only complaint is that the place smells a little wierd and the food is super greasy!
My favorite chinese restaurant. Best place for chinese food in the area. The place is clean and doesn't have any issues like bad smells. The owners are nice too. Highly recommended.
Always wonderful!!! Family-style tofu with pork served with steam rice is my favorite. Price is affordable.
The food is worth what they charge. At times the food is a tad bit too oily, but if your craving for some good Chinese food on campus this the place !
Best Chinese food I've had in all of Texas! Sesame chicken is to die for and they are always friendly here.
