The shinwari goat karahi is delicious! The Garlic butter naan is so soft that you could easily it by itself with no curry.
The portion sizes are small. If you're hungry I recommend getting an appetizer and two Curries.
The goat dum biryani is good but I felt it was short on the spicy aspect. As a whole this is a great spot for lunch and dinner.

Hidden gem in Houston. The lunch special was a fusion of Indian, Afghan, and Pakistani food. Butter chicken was also great. Presentation was also lovely

The ambient was ok but very laid back, and same with the service. The lady working there was extremely polite and pleasant but lacked the skills of serving tables in efficient way. Food for most part tasted above average except for Goat Boti that tasted really good. Overall I didn't find it to be an authentic Afghan experience.

I highly recommend trying their chapli kabab. it was delicious. We stopped here to get something very small to try because we wanted to have dinner somewhere else.
It was a nice little restaurant. The attendant was super nice and he gave couple of suggestions.
We ordered kabuli pulaw, chapli kabab, and sweet lassi.
The only thing we liked was chapli kabab. Lassi was very thin and kabuli pulaw meat was tender but not much flavor.
Halal restaurant.
Every restaurant we visited in Texas had halal certifications on their door. 👏

This food was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! Some of the best naan I have ever had. The butter chicken was amazing. The owner and staff were so welcoming and friendly. I am definitely going back!

Wow! Shinwari has one of the best Hyderabadi Haleem and goat biryani we have tried! Loved visiting and trying their unique fusion dishes (mostly Indo-pak that we tried) made by their Hyderabadi chef along with some Afghan dishes! Also the service and hospitality were amazing! They also have a weekend buffet and Afghani items available as well!
- Chicken and goat biryani: authentic hyderabadi traditional flavor with hyderabadi mirchi ka salan
-Red Chicken curry and naan was really flavorful, -Rumali roti was super soft and melts in your mouth
-Chicken 65 and naan: spicy fried chicken appetizer- definitely amazing🔥
-Desserts: hyderabadi shahi Tukra and double ka meetha
At the end of the meal we enjoyed the Kawa tea☕️

5 stars for getting authentic Chapli kebab here. I have tried them from different places in Houston but none delivered the taste. Staff on the reception is very professional and proactive to ensure the great customer experience. Enjoying the soup while waiting for my next Chapli Kebab order

Wonderful food and epic customer service. We went as a family of four and ordered few items off the menu. We liked everything except one item and they happily switched it. Good place to have dinner with family. It’s a huge restaurant and open pretty late (compared to most restaurants in the area). The staff is exceptionally friendly. We ordered the Shinwari Chicken Karhai with Naan and Hyderabadi Biryani. Everything was really delicious. Highly recommend this place for its staff, service, cleanliness and food.

We ended up here for the weekend dinner buffet. Everything was great, and the staff was very friendly! The chapli kebab and the butter chicken (we all agreed it was the best we ever had) were highlights in particular, but the food quality was great across the board.

Shinwari Restaurant has the real Afghani Food. Actually I was always missing my country food since I come to USA, but since I ate the delicious real Afghani food, I feel that I am in Afghanistan and eating Afghani food. I recommend to eat good and testy Afghani food.

Trying out this new Shinwari Afghan Restaurant in the Hilcroft Shopping Center. Complimentary Chicken Soup with grated carrot, chick peas and shredded chicken. Followed by Chapli Kabab which comes with naan, salad and rice - complete meal. Finish with Saffron Tea with jaggery (no artificial sugar) a little different taste but definitely worth trying.
