Playa Azul Seafood - Houston - Photo album

Good food in what looks like an old Wendy's. Even still has the drive thru window. Looked like a full bar with ice house style beer. Every thing was fresh, the mixed ceviche was flavorful and the fried food was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Place was a bit run down looking but clean. Service w
If you don’t get anything. You have to at least get the ceviche. It’s fresh, flavorful, and delicious. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t try it.
I went over to Playa Azul cause I read a review that they had the best and biggest oysters in town, but I think that was an understatement. Their oysters are fantastic, ceviche was magical, and the service was impecable. Fernando the owner made me feel like I was at home. I just found my new favorit
Awesome ceviche, quick and friendly service. The Al pastor tacos are unbelievable and you wouldn't know it was fish if they didn't tell you.
Love it. The food is good flavor and amazing. The oysters are big and delicious.
We love this place and eat here whenever we're in the area. The fish ceviche is delicious and perfect for those who cannot tolerate shrimp. Their oysters, half shell or fried, are perfectly done and great quality. They have a slightly sorry taste and a firm texture. Like I said, this is a go-to spot
Really liked their gumbo. I don't normally do fried seafood, but the fried shrimp had a great flavor and the model was cold. Service was quick and bartender was friendly with quick menu suggestions. We will definitely be returning to try different items.
Temporarily closed because someone stole the copper wiring to the building smh Hopefully they will be able to reopen soon. I always enjoyed there ceviche, gumbo, and raw oysters. The grilled fish was also good. Not big on fried food but never heard complaints from friends. Good place for some cold b
I love this place! I come almost every other Friday with the family to enjoy some awesome micheladas. I like how they have a variety of Mexican beers. We’ve ordered almost every item from the menu and can’t say I have any complaints. Oh and the service is always great :)
Love this place. Used to go every Monday. Now that I’ve moved, I don’t visit as much. Outstanding customer service! Everyone is friendly. They have my favorite Mexican beer (Pacifico). The oysters on the half shell are fresh and big. The ceviche is really good too! Can’t beat their margarita special
True Mexican seafood! Love the Cancun, the shrimp cocktail and the gumbo. My husband and I drove by this place for years before we finally decided to chance a visit. We missed out on some great seafood at very reasonable prices. Love the bloody Mary with a little kick!
Freaking love this place! All of their food is delicious and at reasonable prices. Stuffed crab and gumbo are incomparable. I really liked goin to Captain Toms down the road on 1960 but it is always too packed, plus Playa Azul has more selection and variety in regard to food and beverages. Whenever
The food is pretty decent. While it may not be the greatest in the world for the price it is a good buy. I've never had to send an under back and their hush puppies are amazing. You'd think that's an easy to prepare item, but you'd be wrong. A lot of places would prove that wrong, not here though. W
Fresh seafood served in a casual, friendly environment. I ordered the fish ceviche and a grilled shrimp plate. The shrimp plate was packaged oddly but tasted good and although Fresh, the ceviche was a bit too salty for our tastes.
Mom & Pop style cantina and oyster bar. Great margaritas and they have micheladas too. Menu is pretty standard - shrimp, grilled/fried fish, ceviche, oysters and several other sharable plates. I tried the cup of gumbo and it was flavored well. They didn't have chips and salsa which would've been goo
