My go-to place for mediterranean food. They also have great hookah. Very low-key. It's a wonderful spot to meet up with friends and talk over a great meal and a hookah after a long day/week at work. The only downside is as of late, they have started charging $40 for parking due to the surrounding clubs😫😫😫🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️...next time I'm going to catch a Lyft🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️.

(I’ve loved coming here since 2013) Incredibly long waits - but - the food is amazing, the garlic sauce is THE BEST SAUCE i’ve had like ever! The hookah is always good! BYOB and nice indoor and outdoor seating!

Cafe Layal has probably the best staff in Houston. Very friendly and welcoming. We tried their dishes such as Falafel plate and the mixed mezze plate, both were good enough. I must admit they don't necessarily taste like in the Middle East or the Mediterranean countries, but it's good enough in the states. They have a patio and inside seating. We enjoyed the experience overall, and I would highly recommend the place.

GREAT SERVICE. Great at checking hookah coals and getting out food and orders out in a timely manner. Food was mid but it was okay for the service that I received. The atmosphere is chill no urban music but that’s fine. More for talking and having convos. I love it here! Be sure to request lib 66 hookah flavor you won’t regret it.

This is a great hookah/chill/order to go or eat in spot right in the poppin part of midtown. Open late, great service and staff. I always get the veggie plate (spicy potatoes 🔥) and some form of falafel.

I am in LOVE with this place. 3 years have been going here since before I moved to Houston. Perfect atmosphere for those that work remotely during the day. Great BYOB with chill vibes and excellent hookah by night. The hookah and tea are what has me coming back. But the customer service is just as excellent. If you ever find yourself in Midtown Houston, definitely check out this place and order their lamb chop plate with hummus. You'll love it.

So, for my birthday, my husband surprised me with a dinner date at this place. We decided to try out Spicy Potatoes, Mixed Grill plate, and Lamb Shank. The food was actually quite delicious! Especially the grilled meat which was so tender and juicy. However, the price was a bit on the expensive side. It's a popular spot, always bustling with people. Since everyone seems to be enjoying their hookah, the whole place was filled with smoke. We had to wait a while to get a table and even for the food to arrive. However, our waitress was super friendly and made an effort to make us feel comfortable.
