I was actually a little impressed with my lunch today. I'm not expecting a lot when I go to a Chinese buffet, but E Star is one of the better that I've experienced. Lots of different dishes and everything was pretty tasty. A huge selection if sushi is that's your thing. I tried a few pieces, and they were all solid. For the price, this was a good choice.
One of the better buffets I've come to. The hot food is fine but the sushi is the real star. It's not gourmet by any stretch but if you wanna drown yourself in sushi for 11 bucks is the best way.
Very good buffet with a great selection. E-Star is definitely well above average for a Chinese buffet. The sushi and sashimi are very nice, and there's a good selection of seafood too. The baked salmon is consistently excellent. Also a good selection of traditional Chinese buffet items. The service is excellent and the decor is very nice too, if you care about such things. A little more expensive than your average Chinese buffet, but it is obvious why. The ingredients are good and they keep things fresh - no cold trays of the slower moving items. And if you're lugging along picky kids? There's pizza too :)

A surprising amount of sushi rolls and sashimi on the buffet. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of all food items.

Nice ambience and the food is good!!! Wide selection soup bar fresh made salad fruit bar and plenty of veggie dishes like bok Choy squash asparagus and oh the variety of chicken! BBQ spare ribs BBQ drummettes yum! The sushi I did not try. I love the noodles here. Because they were not drenched in sauce and oil but still tasty! On the soup bar the Thai chicken soup is good! I love it! The lunch price with tax if you get water is $9.73 I will be back for more!!
E Star on F.M.1960 s my favorite Chinese buffet. The food is excellent, with a huge selection of well prepared dishes. The restraunt has a great atmosphere and a very attentive wait staff.
Omg!. Let me just say that the food is like totally great, my boyfriend and i go eat there every weekend and each time we go its like SUPER pack! The waiters is very nice and friendly, you never have to wait for your drink or napkins to be refulled because they are already there before you even can get a chance to say refull! i definitely would recommend this buffet to friends.
Wide variety of tasty fare. My wife and I and our 2 kids, 8 and 2, have eaten here twice on weekends. They have a very large variety of food, including lots of sushi that my wife likes, and food for the kids like pizza, besides a wide variety of Chinese food. The staff was friendly, the food tasty and hot, and the place was clean.
There's another review that pans this place. I can only think that he has mistaken it for another restaurant. As buffets go, this one is top notch.

Absolutely bada$$, consider I just had my dinner at Dimassi's 2 days ago (the Mediterranean Buffet), there is no comparison, this is at least three or four levels above that restaurant chain, that one has maybe like HALF aisle of variety of food this one offers, and this one offers five aisles each one is above and beyond the Mediterranean buffet offers ... the amount of customers every night and the other amount of returning customers (myself included) is a testament how good the food here.
I'm sure not sure what's up with the rating here, I have been to a lot of restaurants and buffets around Houston area, this one should be around 4.7 to 4.8 - ish. It is comparable to the other Chinese restaurant close to Rice Village called Hu's Cooking (which have a 4.7 ratings) the quality of food is meticulously and it is all more impressive consider the massive crowd during the dinner time

Some of the sushi looked sketchy like it had been sitting out too long. The sushi that looked fresh was delicious. The hot food items were great. Small bowls for sauces are needed and more sauces available for items.
Nice place to watch tv and eat. I came for Sunday lunch and enjoyed the food. Staff was attentive and the environment was clean and stylish. Parking is free and they didn’t say any time limits. There’s really nothing else around so it’s kind of a dine in and go place. They played Christmas music too and sports on tv at the bar.

"Traveled all the way from Alabama to savor this buffet's diverse dishes, especially the shrimp – a seafood lover's dream! A bit awkward with the hosts struggling in English, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Despite that, the food is amazing, the place is clean, and the recent addition of Menudo and beer was a pleasant surprise. Had a great time overall – I'll definitely be back!
You would think judging by this location that the food would be sub par but it's actually on point every time you come in. I've had it 4 or 5 times in the past few months because I'm bulking and it hasn't let me down yet. Food is always fresh and tasty. There's good lighting, clean bathrooms and helpful staff! Best time to come is 12-2 pm!
I love it here! Very good for any age ! I know everyone is talking about it but the robot that leads you to your table is so cool it is a cat and can also say the weather and tell a joke! Now for the food, it was great I loved their green beans and their spicy general tsos their ice cream was also good! They have good options. Service was also nice asked us about every 7 - 10 minutes if we wanted a refill , which I appreciate! I managed to take some pictures and a video of the robot but I did get a couple of stares!
We used to go to buffets more often, specially for quantity. Now it's not like that so much for us; have good memories of Asian buffets in the past with family and wanted to try this place. Price (weekend lunch) was reasonable for the variety of choices available. Standard Chinese dishes plus sushi. Sushi was not too bad. Atmosphere was a little dark and felt a little more like a lounge than a buffet restaurant. This place is a good value if you eat a lot, and even if you do not, it is a good variety of food.
Nice place for family gathering. Foods are good and service is great. They got a robot that bring you to your table.
