Good food and service
The food here was very good, served hot, good service, well seasoned and their Spanish rice was so good! I usually dislike Mexican restaurant rice but this was delicious. My one quibble would be the queso. It was okay, but just okay. The rest was wonderful.
This is a very good place with helpful staff. They dont have many vegetarian option
They give complementary nachos which is really good.
The ambiance is simple but nice with mexican music setting the mood
The food is also delicious.
We ordered the taco salad and the combination of 2 courses.
I was greeted by eager waitstaff. I ordered the Caldo de Pollo or Chicken and Rice Soup. It was extremely soothing and rich with shredded chicken strips. Serving sizes are average but the quality is above average. The margaritas are great.
Mixed fajitas and the chicken entrees excellent. Chip salsa has a bit of spice and is great. We go every week. They are the best.
Great Service!!!. My teen daughter and I went at 5:00 on a Saturday and had wonderful servicen with no wait. We shared the steak fajitas for two, they were excellent and far more than we could eat.
Saw the positive spoons so stopped for lunch. Chips and two sauces. Tomatio and salsa. Both tasty and could cause a full stomach before the food got here. Blink twice and lunch was here. Hot and presented as well as you can present enchiladas. Rice was ok. The beans and enchiladas were nice. Added some of the salsa to kick the food a bit but good stop. Friendly and fast service.
Great beef fajitas. Tortillas were awesome. Beans good. Queso was just ok. Kinda salty. Portions were huge.
Amazing. This place was great! I got the fajatas and they were superb.
Ask for Salvador. He helped me learn a little Spanish to improve on what I learned ten years ago in high school.

Great, affordable Tex-Mex!. My husband and I have been wanting to try this place since we moved to Katy, and we finally did! The food tastes great, and the portions are larger than most Tex-Mex restaurants for the price. My margarita was very good, and so was the service. The queso is nothing to rave about though (just Velveeta and Rotel), but nothing to complain about either. This may be our new favorite Tex-Mex place around here!
El Rancho Katy Freeway Unique & delicious. The El Ranco Mexican Grill and Bar at 17754 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77084 is a very lovely and delicious restaurant. I am writing this review as there are 3 Mexican restaurants by this name in the Katy area. This location is family owned and is not related to the other two in the Katy area. I love this restaurant as it is quiet and beautiful. The food is carefully prepared. (Try their diverse and unique enchilada sauces.)The waiters are experienced and professional. They have a huge patio and private party room. Their selection of liquor, beer, wine and desserts is very nice. I hope the owner can somehow make it with 2 others by similar names that are mediocre in the same area of town. I have patronized this restaurant for lunch and dinner. I always received wonderfully prepared food, in a lovely environment with great service. I am not related to anyone that works or own this restaurant. I am only a happy consumer.
Service here is UNMATCHED!!! Everyone is always on top of things and we never have to wait long at all for anything. These are the best fajitas hands down I have ever had and I recommend this place to everyone looking for good Mexican - especially good fajitas. Decided to try something new this time and it was amazing! Don’t think my husband and I took more than one sip of our drinks at a time before they were being refilled. This is definitely our favorite spot. Would give 10 stars if I could!!
Great staff. I need to visit a few more times to try a good sampling of the menu. The Elote was spot-on. The Street Tscos al Pastor, though, were a little dry and could've benefitted from some green salsa. I might have also enjoyed a smaller dive on thr onions. But overall, it's definitely worth coming back for more.
Good Mexican restaurant. Not the best I have been, but it is a decent one. We ordered fajitas and they were ok, but the price is a bit higher than other top Mexican restaurants.
We always have a great experience here. The food is awesome and the service is always outstanding. My husband, my son , and I dined here yesterday afternoon. Eli was our waiter and he did a great job. We love the fajitas and the chipotle enchiladas.
Excellent service. Delicious food. These quesadillas with dipping sauce is not on the menu but are so delicious.
Very accommodating to groups.
At the last minute 10-15 of us swung by one day in December 2020. They were gracious and even better accepted us during Covid without making it a huge ordeal. They had a separate room for us with tables spaced out perfectly.
Clean.
Staff nice.
Food was good, too.

Love El Rancho. The staff is always professional and very nice - you can tell they enjoy working there. Why? Because great service starts by and ends with excellent management. The owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
The food is always 5 star!

This place was so great! The enchiladas were definitely not lacking shrimp. I prefer the small ones since you can get a while lot more in a single enchilada. But what I loved almost more than the food was the service. The waiter was great, and you could absolutely tell that the manager cared about every single customer's experience. You can't beat people who feel like family! Can't wait to come back!
I have driven by this place everyday for years and today I decided I would give it a go. First, the man who sat us who was possibly the manager was such a genuinely nice person. My interaction with him was short going in and while I was leaving but he was extremely pleasant. Our glasses seemed to be refilled each time we took a couple of sips! Our food was delicious, hot and plentiful. We will Def return.

I really enjoyed the fajitas, I ordered off the lunch menu and got mixed beef & chicken with shrimp added extra. Very kind friendly service.
