My husband and I were just in Houston for couple of days last month. Saw this place on a list of nearby restaurants that our hotel gave us. The pizza was fabulous! Omgosh that wood fired crust! Our waitress was wonderful and the restaurant has great atmosphere.
This place has a great atmosphere, great drinks and fantastic wood fired pizza. They served up a wood fired chicken breast with a creamy, sun dried tomatoe sauce and goat cheese. It was incredible.
During our recent dinner at this restaurant, the pricing seemed to be on its own culinary adventure. The calamari appetizer left us wanting a bit more, while my wife's Shrimp Bianca seemed to feature more pasta than shrimp.
On the brighter side, the 12-inch pizza was a highlight. Its enjoyable taste and reasonable $15 price tag were a pleasant surprise. We aimed to catch the happy hour until 6 PM, but due to a delayed waiter greeting, we missed out on the potential savings.
Our group of four enjoyed the appetizer, a glass of house wine each, and four entrees. The bill, approaching $200, along with a $30 tip, emphasized the pricier side of the experience. While the food hit the mark taste-wise, the overall cost left a bit to be desired.
All said and done, it's a story of mixed impressions, good flavors, and a reminder that price does play a role in the overall dining experience.
Absolutely check this place out! Have gone back again & again. Service is 10/10, atmosphere is gorgeously inviting, and the food is ... the best food I've had all year!! Pizza is amazing, to start. The dishes we have just keep getting better with each visit. Not to mention the drinks, my fave is the frozen peach bellini, yummy! You will not regret visiting this lovely establishment.

We order margarita oven baked pizza and the taste was so fresh and Italian ! Also had a spaghetti with marinara sauce for for the kids which was yummy ! We wrapped our meal with Tramissu dessert and that’s was also an excellent choice
Overall was a nice Sunday lunch experience
While eating we heard nice classical symphonies playing on the background which we made us feel that we are in Italy or Europe. Will visit them again to try other dishes definitely 👍🏻
Liam was the best waiter! He was so attentive to us. The red snapper was the best snapper I have ever had. The parmesan risotto was delicious 😋. My husband's linguini and meatballs were great, too. This restaurant deserves more than 10 stars 🌟
Felt like some pizza 🍕 and my husband and I went to celebrate 🍾 getting him listed for oung transplant. Candelari's did not disappoint. Drinks pizza and desserts were awesome 👌 will be back to further investigate their menu. Service food and atmosphere all a plus.
Sooooo great! Lived in the area about 2 years and JUST found this place. Alex was such a lovely server as well as Pierce. They are so kind and considerate. Food is deliciooouuuss. We keep going back again and again!!
From The Woodlands, date night in Houston staying at a hotel on a Tuesday. We literally had no idea where we wanted to eat, but as we were driving around, we smelled a delicious smell and followed our noses! So glad we did. The energy was amazing, the service exemplary, the food divine! We could not decide so we went with our gut and order one appetizer and 3 main courses knowing we could take food home. I have been to Italy and the food here is absolutely authentic italian and made with heart!
I am not normally a photo taker of food, but I did last night!
My go-to for great authentic Italian food. I seem to want this on Mondays, and I forget that they are closed. They could use training in personality. Staff's a bit dry and going through the motions, but the food is GOOD! The atmosphere in terms of music is really nice. I visit this place at least once every 3 weeks. Rather, I Dine in or take out, Candelari's makes the list.
Candelari’s does pizza right! The entire menu is nice, but the pizza crust is top flight in my opinion! If you’re a fan of a great pizza crust, stop in at Candelari’s!
The location on Holcomebe @ Kirby is convenient, easy to get to and lots of parking!
We've aways loved Candelaris - there's something about that Italian/pizza vibe that's casual but still a little cozy and romantic (I love pizza, lol). The pizza is amazing, decent wine list, appetizers are good as well. On our last visit the service was a little confused, but I'll attribute that to visiting on an off time - it's usually perfectly adequate. A great spot to visit I'd you're in that side of the Med Center, or just in the mood for amazing pizza.
