Some of my favorite Chinese food on the west side. Peking duck is cheaper here than in Chinatown. Carved at your table, it is so succulent and tender with almost no fat. Their steamed pork dumplings are excellent, and the cumin duck wings are a favorite. Ask to sit with Kim, a wonderful waitress who always has a smile. They deliver, just give them a call, and they are on some of the apps like Door Dash. Lots of Yao Ming momentos in the bar area.
Consistently great. Both the service and food. Excellent lunch specials. We are definitely returning again.
Always a reliable place for a feast; pre-ordering is required as not all dishes are available (restaurant is still in scaled down mode).
Thanks Yao for great food good service.
The rooftop bar on 33rd floor offers an amazing panoramic view of Bangkok. The drinks were okay. I had a signature cocktail and it was alright. It would be better if they have happy hours for early birds. I'd visit here more often. :)
We had dinner here at Yao on 32nd floor as well and it was very satisfying. Our hosts were K.Noolek and K.We. They were attentive and really friendly. The duck was REALLY good. The view is awesome. All in all, Yao is a great option if you need to dine in special occasions.

We are visiting Houston and decided to try this restaurant. Both food and service are great. We ordered sweet and sour fish, meat ball, green mustard, and Kao Fu. All of them are authentic. The portion is good too. It's fun to see the basketballs with signatures.
The food is pretty good here. I tried 4 different dishes and each were very lightly salted. If you order the Peking duck then they'll have a chef slice it right in front of you! They also serve the duck with tradition tortilla.. so yummy! Worse part is that this place is pretty expensive, but that's expected since it's Yao Ming's family restaurant.
My favorite restaurant needs an update. This is the best Chinese food in houston , best staff, but the decor and appeal of the place is old and outdated. Sorry.
Been here many times since their opening years ago and ya know, you get more bang for your buck than any other Chinese restaurant. It's not the cheapest, but you get the highest quality ingredients for a reasonable price. No filler vegetables like bell peppers, onions or (cringe) chopped celery. I love their chicken dishes, their prawns (big) and their eggplant dishes. Good ambiance too.
Interesting bit of Chinese national pride in the name. The food was good and the staff was very attentive.
Food is delicious! The waiters are always attentive. Great environment.
