Izakaya Wa - Houston - Photo album

I came here for lunch one day last month. Food was fantastic. There were a lot of customers. The restaurant is very small inside and it was very crowded. I felt a little claustrophobic.
This is the first time that I have a roll called “spicy tuna / spicy salmon” that is actually spicy. I enjoyed them a lot. The food overall is great, the service is fast and courteous. Is a little bit packed during dinner time. It has parking lot for no extra fee.
All the rolls were great - the agedashi tofu wa soo (wouldn’t order it again) . Great service a lol slow tho
The food was incredible. Wow. Can’t recommend the egg plant dish enough it was so good. The steak skewer was also amazing. I really enjoyed the experience at this restaurant. Wow. Can’t wait to come back.
Love the place for the typical japanese bites. Great takoyaki recovered of katsuobushi.😋 Loved also the skewers especially the nasu fried (egg plant) Tried the jelly fish that day. And finished with matcha ice cream. You can't find that in (fake) japanese restaurant. I strongly recommend the pla
Do make reservation before you come. Walk-in can get you wait in line for long time. Food is absolutely stunning. I ordered fresh grated wasabi which is totally different from synthetic wasabi. Highly recommend.
Finally got to come and try this place during their dinner time. They have patio and inside seating. So quick low down is great food priced great and nice staff and grounds. If you care to get more details read below. Staff - Wait staff was courteous and really professional. A busy rythmn of food m
Sashimi cuts are nice and thick!!! The soups are tasty, not bland like most Japanese places. Love the ambiance, made us feel like we were in Japan again!
A place to have a quality japanese meal. I came here because a japanese friend recommendation. I asked her about something authentic. They have tables outside, but, we decided to sit inside. At the begining, I was a little disappointed because decoration is so simple, outdated in my opinion. We
Good service and food. The place is tiny so it gets pretty full quickly, especially since they are practicing social distancing. The grilled skewers are delicious - definitely get the chicken skin, chicken thighs, and scallops. Our server, Tuan, was so nice and friendly. He was extremely busy, but
Decided to go here for a early dinner. Arrived right at 5:00 when they open for dinner. Was greeted with warm smiles and a very accommodating staff. We had a couple beers and then had some edamame, agedashi tofu, takoyaki, and some mackerel. Followed that up with a tiger roll and rainbow roll. Every
Best sushi in Houston! Don’t let the exterior fool you, there’s a reason this place stays packed. Everything on the menu is made fresh and you won’t regret spending $$$ for their toro, best fatty tuna I’ve ever had. Uni is always fresh, I recommend pairing with a quail egg. Love this place!
Great place to grab delicious comfort Japanese food. I keep coming back to Izakaya-Wa for their Chicken curry and the onigiris. I love the fact that they have Asahi, my favorite Japanese beer on draft. The staff very friendly and the food is served very fast. Definitely worth the visit.
Busy needs to reserve for inside, but we sat outside. Good service. Really fresh rolls, pork belly is delicious. First time trying jelly fish. Totally recommend that place.
Good Sake, fresh ginger, wasabi, seaweed salad was perfect, cuts were mid level but the flavors made up for it. Came here on a Friday night and it was packed
Food was good. A bit pricey but was worth it. They had outdoor seating with plenty t of heat lamps so you don't feel cold and you didn't have to wait long. The waitstaff is very nice and attentive.
Bartender was so nice letting us sample some sake while we waited, she was very knowledgeable and gave awesome recs. Salmon skin roll was great. Grilled skewers excellent, meltingly tender meat. Service was perfect, so friendly and attentive. Fresh wasabi wasn't hot, so maybe not so fresh. Seaweed
