Dinner
Noisy place. Two of us got sick from the sushi, so we would never return here. The other two of us enjoyed their meal. Go figure!!! Service was fast & efficient however.

On a recent shopping expedition with my girlfriends in Houston, I noticed a ‘new’ sign advertising a Japanese restaurant close by called Izakaya WA. As it was lunchtime it seemed rude not to stop by for a visit. We arrived around 11.45am and yet even with an 11.30am opening there weren’t any tables available inside! Wow, now that’s a promising sign. As Houston was experiencing one of its rare cooler days we decided to brave the outdoor seating area. Although we were the first to take a seat outside, by the time we left this area was also full.
Amazing! Experience was delightful and cute! Food is delicious and I highly recommend the Shaggy Roll! Also the octopus balls are super yummy! Everything is fun, clean, but also super delicious!
Saturday night at 8. The wait was only 15 minutes before we got a table. The sushi was perfect! And they don't have silverware on the table here so if you can't use chopsticks you'll have to ask for a fork I imagine. The waitresses speak perfect English but the sushi rollers and bus boys speak more Japanese than anything. Still a great experience! Very authentic. And the cheesy Japanese movie posters on the wall made my night!
Today was my first time at Izakaya-wa, and it definitely won't be my last. The staff greets you as soon as you walk in and as soon as you stand up to leave! They're menu is extensive and great for those in your party who are not fond of sushi. Although I didn't try any of the appetizers, they had some very intriguing items on the menu. Super great lunch menu and very nicely priced! Can't wait to go back!
I came here for lunch one day last month. Food was fantastic. There were a lot of customers. The restaurant is very small inside and it was very crowded. I felt a little claustrophobic.
This is the first time that I have a roll called “spicy tuna / spicy salmon” that is actually spicy. I enjoyed them a lot.
The food overall is great, the service is fast and courteous. Is a little bit packed during dinner time. It has parking lot for no extra fee.
All the rolls were great - the agedashi tofu wa soo (wouldn’t order it again) . Great service a lol slow tho
The food was incredible. Wow. Can’t recommend the egg plant dish enough it was so good. The steak skewer was also amazing. I really enjoyed the experience at this restaurant. Wow. Can’t wait to come back.

I strongly recommend the place if you want a taste of Japanese street food.
Do make reservation before you come. Walk-in can get you wait in line for long time.
Food is absolutely stunning. I ordered fresh grated wasabi which is totally different from synthetic wasabi. Highly recommend.

Finally got to come and try this place during their dinner time. They have patio and inside seating. So quick low down is great food priced great and nice staff and grounds. If you care to get more details read below.
Staff - Wait staff was courteous and really professional. A busy rythmn of food making it to customers and drinks being filled along with smiles. Great work hustle and timing.
Food - I came to try skewers they offer. I ended up trying 4 different types and their pork curry. Food was so good I didn't even order sushi this trip. It was wonderfully cooked everything. The fried skewers were crisp and fresh. Seasoned wonderfully. The curry was so good. Everything I ate made me want more. Completely worth every dollar.
Location - the restaurant grounds were clean and spaced to meet current health guidelines. They have several small sculptures and landscaped areas that give the place a beautiful charm.
So closing thoughts are a great place to eat. It got busy pretty quickly and I can understand why from appetizer to desert everything was great and served perfectly. Highly recommend giving them a try.
Sashimi cuts are nice and thick!!!
The soups are tasty, not bland like most Japanese places.

A place to have a quality japanese meal.
I came here because a japanese friend recommendation. I asked her about something authentic.
They have tables outside, but, we decided to sit inside. At the begining, I was a little disappointed because decoration is so simple, outdated in my opinion.
We started with a japanese craft beer called Asahi, it was recommend by our friendly waiter and it was very good, with light flavor and very sparkly. After that, I started to enjoy the place.
But, my opinion totally change when we received the food. Everything was with a beautiful presentation and quality.
To eat we had skewers, warm miso soup and a dinner sushi combo called Chirashi A, that was a delicious combination of different sliced raw fish over a perfect cooked rice bed.
Every bite of this food was delicious. Of course I’ll be back to eat more of this delicious meals.
Good service and food. The place is tiny so it gets pretty full quickly, especially since they are practicing social distancing. The grilled skewers are delicious - definitely get the chicken skin, chicken thighs, and scallops. Our server, Tuan, was so nice and friendly. He was extremely busy, but made sure that we were taken care of.
