Blue Onyx Bistro - Houston - Photo album

I came with my best friend for Houston Restaurant Weeks and this was our first stop. I don’t remember my first course, but for my entree I had the veal & lobster tail and my friend had the halibut I think. The flavors in the sauces were great, the only problem is I started to feel queasy about halfw
Awesome experience here. Food tasted good with lots of flavor. Our server, George, was super attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was really photogenic. Super happy we came across this place!
I would have given it 5 stars, but my veal was well done and had no flavor. They replaced it with an amazing Chilean Seabass. It was so light and flaky! The bacon wrapped quail was good. The white chocolate bread pudding was ok, I've had better most other places. The waiter was very nice and helped
Our anniversary dinner was amazing! My husband went on Yelp to find a restaurant for us and this one did NOT disappoint! We had the Watermelon Basil w/ smoked Mezcal and a Paloma for drinks. For starters we had the shrimp bisque (must have) and crab in garlic butter! For our entrees we both had fis
Staff was friendly and attentive. Meal came out hot and fresh. The Gulf Snapper with Chef´s Spicy Sauce was a bit overcooked, but the flavors were unbelievable and more than made up for it. I'll no doubt be back.
Absolutely fantastic lunch! The redfish was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The wine perfectly complemented the fish. The tiramisu is served frozen, yet it is flavorful.
The best crab cake of my life!!! The reason I did not give this place 5 stars was because my mom ordered the blue onyx’s pasta and it was super thick. But the service was great and the atmosphere was beautiful.
Sine we have group, they have arranged private room for us, make sure we are not too "loud"😉😆 We had restaurant of week menu on Sunday lunch, only 2 courses, but calamari and soup was good dinner size which fill you up...no doubt 👍 Will come back for dinner again!
Everything was excellent --the waiter, the food, and the ambiance inside-- simply spectacular! First time trying escargot, and sad that I had not visited the restaurant sooner--they were so delicious...the seasoned butter was simply delicious that I dipped my bread until butter was gone. I love te
My family and I went here to celebrate Mother’s Day. It surprisingly wasn’t overbooked with reservations. The service was friendly, but a little slow. The menu is huge. I had the seafood pasta. It was filled with seafood, but the pasta was too thick. The calamari and bread were very good! My family
Thank you for a fabulous Birthday dinner for my daughter Erica. The food, the service, the atmosphere was first class. Our waitress Stephanie was always attentive and very personable. Everyone enjoyed their meals which were beautiful presented as well as delicious. They set up our flower centerpiece
Absolutely a great experience The staff was very friendly and frequently checked on us. We had the Spicy Octupus and Baked Oysters - amazing. We also had the Cajun Roll, Crunchy Roll and the Hot Sea Monster Roll. Great portions for the price and was very delicious! We cleaned out our plates.
I've had the best food of my life at Blue Onyx! The flavors, creativity, quality, and presentation of the food were amazing! The seafood tasted really fresh and I would highly recommend the chili oil ravioli dish and truffle pasta (handmade fresh noodles)! They were some of the many memorable dishes
Go for the sushi!!!!! The drinks were mostly sweet and blah, but the sushi and everything else we ate was delicious! You can even ask the chef for a customized roll! You get about 11 pieces- So. Much. Sushi!! We met and had great conversation with the managers AND the chef!!! Such a great experience
Beautiful decor and very attentive waiter staff. When we arrived it was only us and another couple. The bread and water was served less than one minute of us being seated. For an appetizer we had the Stick Ribs which was very delicious. For entrée I had the Grouper with Scallops and Spinach and a Po
This is a new restaurant and it only opened for 6 weeks when I visit. The food are surprisingly good and the price is very reasonable. If you going to eat anything similar, it will cost you a double of how much you pay here. The waitress was great and the Chef actually came out and greet each table.
Ambiance was very nice. Plenty of parking spaces and very visible from a distance. The menu has plenty of options to choose from but they seem to be known for their seafood. Pricing is very fair for fine-dine seafood. I had the ribs and blue crab fingers for the appetizer which is were both deliciou
