Great location even with construction around - very easy to get to from any part of town. The waitstaff and overall service is outstanding. Extremely professional. Very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list. A+. This is an excellent venue for lunch with friends or business lunch. Now for the food: such amazing attention to detail and presentation. Very fresh salads; shrimp and grits to die for; pork chop is the best in Houston; and don’t overlook the Tuesday night chicken pot pie - better than mom’s. Sorry mom.
Love this place!! The staff is incredible!! The food is out of this world!! We had the fried green tomatoes, the salmon and the ribs. No words to describe the deliciousness!! Highly recommend this place!!
Frank's staff made us feel welcome from the moment we walked into the restaurant to when we returned to our car.
We were a party of four celebrating a birthday.
We started with drinks and bread service. We enjoyed the Bourbon and the honey buttered bread basket.
We ordered appetizers (fried green tomatoes) and I had a Caesar Salad with anchovies (4 fish).
Very nicely served.
Dinner came, CFS, fish and I ate short ribs. The CFS servings were huge portions! My short ribs were fall-off-the-bone prepared perfectly.
All the whole the staff served us quietly and stayed vigilant yet out of the way.
Even as we left the restaurant, the valet staff asked if they could help us get into our vehicle in a handicap marked car/spot.
A wonderful night/dining experience.
4/4 Syds.

Amazing neighborhood / family owned restaurant - weekly specials are amazing - I have not had a bad meal yet - this place is a GEM !!! Went back again and again, and this place is completely amazing tonight we had the chicken pot pie in the little gem salad and it was very good
The food was great and they accommodated my large party of 10 without a problem. The deviled eggs are a must try. We tried the chicken fried steak and buttermilk fried chicken and both were delicious and the portion size is large. More than enough for leftovers. Also if you try a dessert try the carrot cake that was some of the best I've had a restaurant.
This was my first visit and plan to return soon. Outstanding service! Very well-prepared filet mignon. What else can I say? Our Christmas Eve dinner could not have been better.
A friend has raved about Frank's as one of her all time favorite places to eat great food for the soul. I now understand why. The service was terrific. Prompt, friendly, knowledgeable and not over bearing. The raspberry Moscow mule mocktail was perfection. Deliciously muddled with fresh raspberries that iced in the cocktail exactly how I like it. Oddly this is something most bar tenders can't get right. The crab cakes were divine. Packed with mouth watering large jumbo lump crab meat and tasty flavors to accompany it. A great experience. I look forward to my next visit to Frank's!
First visit, loved it. My husband treated me to a birthday dinner. They have a wide variety of dishes but we ordered a couple of comfort classics. The buttermilk fried chicken was the best. I also shared the crispy oyster salad which is one of the best I've had. The cranberry bread pudding was unbelievable, scrumptious. My husband had the chicken pot pie. I highly recommend, come hungry.
Update: I haven't been in awhile. I went in December 2020 and the place is the same with the same quality and service. My only update is that that the bartender was not consistent with wearing his face covering over his nose and mouth. At times he was talking to customers, including us, without any covering at all.
Food: A
Ambiance: A
Service: A
I've been dining at Frank's for several years. I like supporting local, family-owned businesses. The bartenders know how to make great, classic drinks. It's a place you want to go when you feel like being treated like a regular and enjoying good food. It's also a great date night place. The prices are very reasonable for what you are getting.
My wife and I went for the Houston week. I had the petite filet with little potatoes and my wife had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. I'm not sure if I actually had a filet because the meat itself was not tender and very chewy. The little potatoes were great. My wife's Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans were awesome. For dessert I had the chocolate cupcake and my wife had the lemon cheesecake both were outstanding. The waiter we had left something to be desired as he did not have much of a personality. Sean who my wife made the reservation with came by the table to make sure everything was great and knew who we were. Overall the meal was great we will be back again. I hear their chicken fried steak is awesome and I'd like to try it.
Service was great. Very friendly greeting by the host. We ate there for lunch. Sat on the "patio" we were checked on several times by the wait staff. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Their CFS has been rated as one of the best in the city and it did not disappoint. I also had the chocolate tres leches for desert, the flavor is more chocolate cake than tres leches but if you like moist chocolate cake this is definitely the desert for you. My wife had the crab cake salad. She loved it, delicious lump crab cake, mostly crab on a salad. Can't wait to go back!
The food was great, the service was pretty good, the atmosphere was as expected. My biggest complaint which is not the restaurants fault (I am hoping that the bus boy didn't keep them) is I left my sunglasses and they didn't get turned in. The food and atmosphere was great though. Service was a little slow on drinks and taking our order.
