Was my 3rd time there since opening. Have loved it every time I have been there, went once on just casual evening, then for my husband's birthday & now mine last night & the service was outstanding, we had two gentlemen that were fun, talkative, & very helpful. I will always recommend this place to family, friends, & guests at my place of employment. The food is amazing ( the drinks are outstanding also) have had nothing disappointing yet nor has anybody that I have gone with !!! Amazing asset added our little town of Hancock ♡
I’ve been three or four times over the last several months. Each time it has been excellent. If you like some heat, try the Pollo Encremada. I tried it my first time and never manage to order anything else. Wait staff is always top notch, and the food is consistently excellent. Surprisingly great Mexican food for a small town in the UP!

Service here was excellent, we were helped right away with chips and salsa and the waiter was very attentive. The food was very yummy! The Chile relleno was what made my meal. We also got a tamal, beef taco, and steak fajitas. All was delicious except the beef taco which was extremely sub par compared to the rest of this amazing meal. Try this place!
Good place but food isn't amazing and atmosphere is lacking a bit. Price is reasonable.
I really enjoy the atmosphere at La Cantina; the art on the walls and even the design of booths, tables and chairs. The food does not disappoint, and a handful of delightful surprises (a 20 inch burrito, locos Nachos, and 1/2 off margaritas on Thursdays - now only half off Large and medium).
I do wish however that the bill added up well, and with no food items listed on the bill, it was impossible to divide our groups bill without reaquiring the menu, which had already been given to another table.
Nice place for me with good prices too. Texas margaritas are plenty with good tequila
Both my Wife and I had the beef chimichanga it was tasty and hot. Service was right on the spot and food was delivered in no time. Prices are very reasonable. I would recommend La Cantina to my friends.
There's not a lot of great places to eat up here but this place is GREAT. I get the chicken chimichanga meal every time I go and it is the BEST. We like the chicken and steak quesadillas, both are great but we 100% recommended the steak. The guacamole and salsa are so good too! The staff is so friendly and the service is amazing. There's nothing bad I can say about this place.
This Mexican restaurant is very similar to what you typically find across the State. Nice atmosphere. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were excellent. Large portions and just the right amount of spice. My wife ordered a taco salad. She said it tasted fine, but if we were ever dining there again, she would not order it. It was very “runny”. Not sure why…. (Maybe from the ground beef or refried beans)
The staff was attentive and the parking area was more the adequate. If we are in the area again, we will eat there again.
Wow! Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever eaten at! I called to ask about their vegan options and they were very accommodating and friendly. I ordered the Veggie Yucatan to go and it was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were all so fresh and seasoned to perfection. The aura and decoration inside the restaurant was authentic and cozy. I highly recommend eating here and checking out their vegan options!
The Enchiladas Potosinas were phenomenal. I came all the way up from Milwaukee and this place is as good as anywhere down there. I will be back whenever I’m in town! Gracias!
