We heard good things about Smoky Mountain Diner. The pancakes were amazing just plain as they were. The biscuits were great plain with some syrup. The waitresses were friendly and wonderful. The prices were reasonable. Overall, a really nice place for dining in.

Very good, interesting food at a very reasonable price. Normally I wouldn't suggest that a place is worth a drive, but this one is. Do me a favor if you read this review. I forgot to leave a tip! Please do me and them a solid and leave an extra dollar to make up for my insensitivity. Thank you!

Came to Hot Springs resort and spa for a getaway. Walked to Smoky Mountain Diner for dinner. It was great! I had hamburger steak with onions and peppers; mashed potatoes, pinto beans, and a roll. My wife had blackened shrimp with sweet potato casserole and green beans. We also had tea, mine sweet and hers unsweetened, served in quart sized Ball jars, it was great! I highly recommend.

Came down the mountain after hiking in Max Patch area and was looking for a comfort meal. Had a great meal here with quick friendly service. Would recommend when in the area and will return when I am in the area for sure.

Do not pass on this place based on the outside or the fact it’s attached to the back of a DG. Listen. All those cars out there aren’t at the DG. They are eating. lol. We had dinner one night and had some breakfast to go before a hike. Literally every single thing we had was probably some the best cooked foods we have ever had. Putting them up against 5 star chefs. The fried green tomatoes are some of the best breaded I’ve ever had. This was my 3rd trip to Hot Springs and 1st time trying Smoky Mountain and I’m sad I waited so long. I cant wait to try more items from here. The locals really got something special with this place.

Great, relaxed restaurant. The country style steak is wonderful and large enough to serve several people (plan on leftovers). The fried okra was addictive. My kids enjoyed the Philly cheesesteak sandwiches too.

We came here after hiking the Appalachian Trail. Wait. Don’t get too excited. We only did about two miles. It’s not like we did the whole thing and then grabbed a burger here. Anyway, it was freaking perfect. The food was great. I got a burger and my wife got a chicken sandwich. Apparently they have the best gluten free bread in the world. (My wife is gluten free. Except when she’s not. And then it’s somehow my fault for not telling her that cookie ice cream sandwiches are not gluten free. But that’s another story for another time.) As good as the food was, the wait staff was even better!!! They were awesome!!! Our waitress must have spent 20 minutes just telling us stories of hikes and whatnot. And the rest of the staff was just as nice…making sure we had full iced teas, napkins, etc. It was an awesome experience!!!

Great little find on our road trip. Great portions for the price. Definitely the “local greasy spoon”. Our waitress said “everything is good here honey” when we asked for her opinion and I don’t think she was kidding everything was great!

Welcoming place with the sweetest staff. Biscuits particularly and hashbrowns were delicious. The omelette was okay - wasn’t as fluffy as I like them. When in the area we’ll definitely be back.

We had a short wait for breakfast and now we know why. After watching several others get served a cinnamon bun, we had to get one. Best cinnamon roll/bun ever. Wow! The I had the pimento cheese grits with fried green tomatoes with two over easy eggs and two pieces of bacon. I also had a pancake that tasted like cake. It was so good. I highly recommend! The arch e was good too.
