Steak 'n Shake

It was alright. I stopped in for lunch. I stood a long time at the service desk at the door because it said, wait to be seated. A cashier was helping a long line of customers pay. I wish I could have just sat down at the lunch counter. After a long wait, I finally asked the cashier if I could just sit down at the lunch counter. I was served by a gentleman who seemed to be the manager. He was extremely polite and professional. As most service industry places, they are just slammed and understaffed. I am sure they had a continuous long line at the drive thru. Most of the banter behind the counter and in the kitchen was in Spanish, which is fine and understandable. My small burger and fries were tasty. The chocolate shake was good as well, but not really substantial. Seemed really whipped - lots of air in it. See the menu. Did not seem very professional. Several typos in it. I will probably be back. Bless the folks who work there!

If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t get me wrong the burger I ordered (garlic double steak burger) tasted fantastic. But it alone is around $9 and is the same size as a $1 cheeseburger from McDonald’s. I also order a large fry, simple enough, but instead received a small size fry that were extremely soggy and honestly just gross. I don’t plan on ordering from here again, not worth $13 when I can get the same quality and amount down the road for less than $5.

Stopped here around 4:30 and there were people still eating inside the restaurant but the door says drive thru only. But when you see people still eating inside you think that the dining room is open, only to be told the dining room is closed and they are drive thu only…HOW ABOUT LOCK YOUR FRONT DOOR AND HAVE A SIGN THAT SAYS DINING ROOM IS ONLY OPEN TILL A CERTAIN TIME! Very stupid and frustrating 🤦🏻‍♀️
