Gigis Cupcakes

This place was good, but no where near $4 per cupcake good! I think that's how much they were. There weren't prices on anything! Not the cupcakes, not the cookies, not the drinks. I would have just walked away if I wasn't with a group. I didn't even get a receipt to know how much they cost. Summary: there are a lot better desserts for cheaper.

After eating Gigi's cupcakes many times and loving them, I was very disappointed this past Friday night. I went in your establishment after dinner and saw the Salted Caramel Chocolate cupcakes and had to try them as I love just about anything salted caramel. I also got a Sundae cupcake too. After getting home, my wife and I tried to eat the cupcakes and they tasted old and somewhat burnt. Do you bake your cupcakes fresh daily or do you keep them for sale until they are gone? We ended up throwing out what we didn't eat. I hope your quality is not going down but if I go there again and have a similar experience I will not return.

Was disappointed the staff turned our party away. We had about 6 patrons total, there was a customer in the store finishing up their purchase and after walking in we were informed they were closed. (6:06pm, 6 minutes after closing) I understand where they are coming from by only wanting to business during operating hours. If you have people willing to buy pricy cupcakes you are just going to discard and you turn them away, seems like poor business and customer service to me.

Where do I start? This small business is a delight. I believe this is such a fun place because all of the different types of cupcakes. They have something for EVERY occasion. They are so yummy and fun at the same time. Do you need to treat a friend, family member, colleague or client? If they like something sweet, this is the place. Don’t wait. Reward yourself or someone you want to provide a smile to. Go NOW!!!

GiGi's cupcakes catered my wedding cake, grooms cake, and mini cupcakes for my wedding and I am still in awe of the wonderful job that they did. I would encourage all brides in the Birmingham area to go for a tasting and you will not be disappointed. I had about 5 tastings with the most popular wedding cake bakers in the area and while they were all good, the cake at GiGi's out-tasted everyone! Not many people realize that they also offer full-size wedding cakes and not just cupcakes. I had a brunch wedding and went to taste the cinnamon roll cake that I had heard was fantastic (was actually recommended by my caterer, Kathy G). Wow, it was phenomenal!! The Chocolate grooms cake was just as tasty. I had a tight window that in which I needed the cake delivered and set up since I was having my ceremony and reception at the same place. They went out of there way to get it there in time and set up... it was absolutely perfect. Honestly the best tasting cakes I have ever had at a wedding and my guests agreed. They were also beautifully decorated! Bravo, GiGi's!

My daughter wanted to try a Gigi's cupcake so bad, so what a perfect time to surprise her with one since she had been sick. The the store itself is decorated beautifully, but the customer service did not match. Since this was my first time in the store I had a lot of questions and the young lady that was assisting me really acted like, 'would you just buy a cupcake please." I did not know what to buy so I bought 5 different kinds. And they are wayyyyyyy to sweet, they are loaded with frosting but I thought they would have cut back on the sugar, but that was not the case. The cake stuck to the cupcake wrapper and , the boxes they put them in are beautiful but don't close all the way so the air made them hard 3 hours after I bought them. I was really disappointed. Not to mention the 5 I bought were almost 16.$ I would have saved money and enjoyed cupcakes from Publix better.

As a Pharmaceutical Representative, we are always looking to separate ourselves from our competitor. So, I am very reluctant to reveal this hidden jewel. The cakes and cupcakes are excellent! My customers always look forward to treats from Gigi's! As a rep they are very easy to work with and the customer service is second to none!

I agree with those posting overrated. I don't know why we keep buying from this place. Loaded with tons of sugar on the top and the actual cake part is never really as good as you could make at home. I could make 12 for the price of one. Got 3 s'mores tonight and the cake was a bit stale and not very good. In addition the receipt has a line to leave a tip. Are you kidding me? At nearly $4 per cupcake, they need to pay their staff more and not ask me for tip for someone reaching into a cabinet and putting a cupcake in a box. It's a bit over the top. I don't plan to buy any more cupcakes from there.
