Mcdonald's

Nice location with modern interior (continuous bench seats, movable faux leather stools, graphic designed glass and walls). The food was delivered quick after sending it in via app and well prepared. The location was not super crowded inside on Wednesday after lunch, but the drive-thru was busy. Staff was friendly. located inside a very crowded and busy area adjacent to Kahala mall. I can see where parking would be an issue with all the other eateries nearby. Note that there is no self-service drink station and that the staff needs to serve you. Mens bathroom looked modern with air dryers and automatic soap and water system. no paper towels, though. The bathroom smelled like urine as it looked like someone urinated on the floor, so it may have just been my timing, but the bathroom could use a little more TLC.

The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is very clean. I think with covid they have put in some restrictions of the customer flow. Can only enter from one door and exit from another door in the other end of the restaurant. Even though the kiosks allow you to choose table service, they placed a label at the bottom of the kiosk screens that says "no table service", so you have to listen to them call out your order and walk up to get your food.

This is hands down the best McDonald's in America! My dear grandfather who used to be a high powered engineer now has difficulty remembering many things, but as soon as he sees the parking lot of this McDonald's he yelps with joy. "I love McDonald's!" What makes this McDonald's the gem of Kahala is the lovely manager Maurice, who remembers every customer and welcomes every single guest personally. "Hey, guy!" Maurice stops by every table to talk with his guests. When you're eating at Maurice's restaurant, you feel like you're eating in a small town diner rather than in a global franchise chain. He reminds his customers when their bus is coming. The regulars hug each other, and strangers offer you a seat at their table. Truly one of Oahu's rare and delightful places.

They just updated the look and feel of the interior for this McDonalds and it looks nice. The service is a little slower than others but the food quality is beyond amazing. I would rather wait an extra couple of minutes and get the quality that they are serving here. I will be going back when I am in the Kahala area.
