Best mochi on Oahu. Fresh, soft, many unique varieties, perfect texture. Among our favorites: fresh berry/ red bean, lychee, choco nutty toffee, yuzu/ lilikoi, haupia chichi dango. Service itself is great. Lady behind the counter is helpful, fruendly, efficient ... and willing to serve you after hours if she is still around; just ring the bell. Service rating is 4 out of 5 more because a) you have to get there at the right time - the mochi might not be ready yet or they're already sold out of a flavor, so hit or miss on the day, b) have to find parking on the street because the small parking lot is full. Store itself is average experience; sort of stark ambiance. On the expensive side (more than a couple bucks per mochi), but the mochi is heavenly.
I am not a big fan of mochi but let me tell you Fujiya Hawaii is absolutely amazing and delicious. I've been to Japan many times and never had mochi this good in my life. Our last trip to Oahu we went here 3 time. They're closed Sunday and Mondays. The last time we went I wanted to take some home for family and friends but it's best eaten within three days and our flight home was Tuesday morning at 6am. I mentioned that to the owner (I believe it was the owner) and she told me to come Monday morning and she would sell me what they had made for the day. I was so grateful for the hospitality!!! The best ones are the strawberry mochi. It's basically the Habutae (red bean and mochi) with a whole strawberry in the middle, delicious! The Chichi Dango regular and haupia (coconut) is just the mochi without any filling. Those ones are delicious too. They have many other flavors and baked goods. I promise you can't go wrong with that you choose. And always remember Thank you for the food!
Best mochi on Oahu! Be sure to try the Strawberry or Mixed Berry options, and see what the week's special flavors are. Everything is a perfect texture and deeply flavorful. Because they aren't made to sit on a shelf indefinitely, the food needs to be eaten with ~3 days (one day for the fresh berries), but that's just an excuse to enjoy more of their delicious treats 😋
Great bakery where they make mochi and other Japanese treats. We just got mochi, but it was all very good!
Highly recommend trying the strawberry and azuki bean filled mochi.
Put this place on your list of places to try!
Once you try Fujiya products, you’ll NEVER want to buy the others. The treats like the Mochi are supreme! It’s melt in your mouth soft and the filling of peanut butter, chocolate, adzuki, Ube, strawberry or any that they put in is of generous amount. They also have other unique snacks in their store which was clean and staff were friendly, real local kine auntie vibes.
Cannot say enough nice things about this place. The mochi is excellent. The little tea crackers were fun and different. The service was a delight. Worth getting out of Waikiki for. Just keep that mochi cold!
This place rocks. 10/10 will be returning for more deliciousness.
Oh boy, I was looking for mochi and I think I found the best mochi ever. Fresh and soft, simply perfect. My only complaint is that there isn't one next to my house.
The best mochi I've ever had. I've never had mochi that soft before. We've been back there 4 times in one week.
Super tasty sweets! We got the pastries, ate them in the car and went back for seconds lol. Enjoyed the purple sweet potato, matcha and the yuzu the most. Looking forward to trying the mochi next time.
Oh. My. Goodness. Best mochi EVER, and not at all expensive.
Strawberry daifuku was available for Mother’s Day, and was absolutely spectacular.
