We got their chicken karage set which came with white rice. Everything was freshly made; however, the chicken was a little oily. However, it was served piping hot which made the eating experience even better. All in all, it was a good small meal for us.
I am a big fan of Japanese ramen. The signature pork belly ramen tasted fine but below my expectation. The broth looked thick floating with meat fat but tasted a little bland, so the spicy one might taste more flavorful. Anyway, the pork bellies and egg tasted juicy and delicious.
Yes it is in a food court, but better than a lot of stand alone ramen shops.
I ordered the #2 bario egg ramen in black garlic shoyu tonkotsu broth with extra noodles (20.98). I had to settle for that because I was overwhelmed with the variety of choices on display. They really need to streamline their menu as it was kind of confusing.
They had a large backlog of takeaway orders before we ordered but I got my food within twenty minutes.
First off I loved the broth, it was thick, full of that sticky collagen feeling, and most all garlicky. Maybe even too garlicky for me, but I eventually finished it.
The char-siu was very tender, to the point it can be shredded apart with some force. It had a nice smoky undertone as well, unusual but welcome.
Noddles were great, firm as I like it.
The shoyu braised egg was disappointing, it was marinated too long. The egg white end up being brown. As a result, the egg ended up being sweet, not savoury.
My friend had the red spicy lovers soup. Even at hot it was a little too spicy for him. He did love that broth though.
This is a place worth visiting. Yes, it is in a food court but that is why the place was so impressive to me.
Not like any food court I have frequented. Let's start with the 1st word that comes to mind... YUM!!
Chose the buikd your own option, but sooooo many choices available.
This is a MUST try!!!! Delish! I highly recommend this food court all the way around.
Bario means big and strong, and in terms of ramen it means a type of ramen that's for the manly man. They certainly play that up with the spicy options... There is even option that's so spicy that you need to sign a waiver for. I got 3 stars spicy tsukemen, and it wasn't spicy so I don't think the nuclear option would have been that difficult to do. The broth is very thick with a heavy garlic flavor. I guess if you love garlic you'll love this ramen. I didn't as much. It was good but not spectacular... I have high ramen standards though. By the way, it is in the food court. Took us a while to find it... Why not add that to the description?
Ramen Bario has the best Ramen soup on the island! Flavourful, garlicky and delicious. The best food court soup! I got just noodles and soup this time. They are thick and soft, but not too soft. The best.
Ordered the spicy noodles with egg, medium heat and it was delicious. Have traveled a lot in Asian countries and this was authentic and yummy. Would go back if I’m ever at this mall
Tasty ramen, very lucious, creamy, garlicky broth with very soft char siu pork slice. Got the option with egg and it's tasty, soft boiled egg. Service is helpful and fast. You order at counter and pick up at otherwise of the counter. There is a discount for Hawaii residents so show your ID. Thin noodles were done in 2 minutes and the thicker egg noodles 5 minutes. A bit pricey but worth trying. I would go back again.
Didn't have much expectations for this food court ramen place, but was pleasantly surprised with the decent level of spice as well as taste. Price was fair for portion and quality (although a but pricey considering Ala Moana Center).
The tongotsu ramen and dumplings were amazing. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The it's took a little while but we also ordered a bit of food and it was rush hour. All in all would definitely go back.
