Futago, Hawaii Kapahulu

I had heard how awesome Alejandro’s was but never made it to the Kalihi location. When my teen daughter was meeting friends for dinner and I was stoked knowing I could finally try it when I seen it on kapahulu. It did not disappoint. Living here for 9 years the only food I really missed from the mainland is good Mexican food. Wish I would’ve found this place sooner! Food was on point. Carne asada tacos had good flavor. Sales verde was flavorful. 5 *. Food was cheap too - had many plates under $12z Also had live music on Saturday night and the dude was just killing it. Great food, great prices, great vibes! The only thing disappointing was the place was only half full! Although I’m thankful I could get a seat, a gem like this place should be filled every night.

Went with a party of 4 on a Friday evening, was not as busy compared to previous days. The restaurant is self seating and you order at the counter for food and at the bar for drinks. Food arrived fairly quickly, about 5-10 mins max. Fountain drinks are served in to-go cups and they have complimentary water in addition to bottled/canned drinks and other drink specialties. Also live music so definitely a plus. Definitely more casual spot after work or to meet up with friends. Parking is behind the restaurant but can fill quickly depending on the crowd. Restrooms were ok and could use routine check ins. For convenience you can order take out along the kapahulu side.

Great Music as we enjoyed our food & drinks. Beef quesadilla was great, tasty tortilla cooked perfect! My husband loved his 3 tacos (Carne asada was his favorite, also had beef and carnitas) Bartender was friendly and prompt, made excellent drinks! All servers very helpful and kind too, we'll be back!!

The food is absolutely the best and a lot of places claim to be the best but hands down Alexandros is truly the best mexican food place I have ever had. He started with a food cart and has made it up to this place which has great service and atmosphere. If you have been or lived in Mexico this place hits closest to home. Thanks Alex for bringing your great food to hawaii and letting us get a taste of authentic Mexican style.
