The Spicy Ahi Poke and Shrimp Tempura were so ono!! A must when you grind here. The customer service was very good. I never had to ask for a refill of hot tea or water. If you haven't eaten here yet. I suggest you do. Nice smaller quiet restaurant with BIG taste!

What a great service to have both water and hot tea without asking to have them!!! Honestly speaking, tea was not good though. I had a lunch special box and chose a sashimi and Tonkatsu. Miso soup, green salad and Shrimp tempura were included in the special which cost about $16. I was so impressed with reasonable price and fast service. However rice or rice bowl smelled like a soap and rice was not good.

First time to Kikuya! The portion sizes are very generous and there is quite a bit of bento/teishoku-style food available. The sushi here is pretty solid, too, and the service is quick. I had ordered the lunch box with beef teriyaki and tonkatsu. The teriyaki and tonkatsu was good, but I was very excited to see it came with a piece of super good tempura. Highly recommend coming here, but this placed filled up quick! We arrived shortly after they opened at 11 and by 12 there was a small line to get a seat, even with the rain! Food: 5/5 Staff: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Overall: 4.5/5

A little hole in the wall restaurant in Kalihi. It's a favorite of locals and seniors. Great food at reasonable prices. The fish is fresh and the meals are cooked to order. The service is good and the l ladies efficient. This is one of our go to spots.

Came here for lunch on a Wednesday and got the lunch special where you can choose two items from the list. My husband chose grilled salmon and sashimi and I chose the butterfish and sashimi. I loved the hot barley tea they served with our water! Then the sweet pickled cabbage was so crunchy ❤️. Miso soup was perfect and the tempura shrimp that came with our bento was so light and crispy. Dressing in the salad was good too but just a bit too much dressing. I thot the portion of grilled butterfish was a bit small. My husbands grilled salmon was double the amount of fish that I had. Quality over quantity I guess and maybe the butterfish was a more expensive cut of fish 🤷‍♀️. I would highly recommend but advise you get something other than the butterfish if you are really hungry.

If you have a large group and eating dinner, outside it was cool and good space to enjoy your meal, laugh out loud, and feel comfortable... don't forget the food. There were good selections with combo dinner of two or three choices...good selection of choices...good times there.

Kikuya is one of My Favorite Japanese Restaurant to have dinner with great selection on the menu, I would recommend Misoyaki Butterfish and Soft Shell Crab. I gave 4 stars because I did not enjoy the Garlic Shrimp Ala Carte Dish that was difficult removing shells sticking to the 🍤 meat. Parking can be tight during peak dinner time because of other restaurants in this area.
