Sekiya's Restaurant & Delicatessen is truly a gem in the heart of Honolulu, embodying the spirit and flavors of old Hawaii. Its unassuming exterior belies the rich tapestry of flavors and history that lie within. From the moment you enter, there's a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the good old days when family gatherings were centered around food and laughter. The menu boasts an array of traditional Japanese and local dishes that are executed to perfection. The okazuya-style selections are a delight, allowing patrons to customize their meal with a plethora of delectable options. Their saimin stands out, with its hearty broth and springy noodles, and the tempura is a crisp revelation. But what truly sets Sekiya's apart is the warmth of its service. The staff, many of whom seem to have been with the establishment for years, serve with genuine aloha, making you feel like part of the Sekiya's ohana. Whether you're a kama'aina looking to reminisce or a visitor hoping to get a taste of authentic local cuisine, Sekiya's Restaurant & Delicatessen promises an experience that is as heartwarming as it is delicious.

Always love the butterfish, my wife gets the vegetable tempura and green beans with garlic chicken. I like the fried noodles, fried rice. Good saimin and burgers too

Good service, good food and a nice, comfortable local restaurant. The Chicken Yakitori is the best in the City. Try it.

A good, old local favorite! I have been going here since I was a kid for the sushi, vegetable tempura, donburi, and fried saimin. The taste and portion sizes have remained the same over the years. There is a wide selection of options so everyone can find something to eat for lunch or dinner.

First time visit without any expectations despite of the negative reviews here in the recent months. They may need some updating to do in terms of interiors, but other than that the service was very good, reasonably priced menu. We had Mahi Tenpura & Chicken katsu set and Nabeyaki udon. Udon broth was bland, needed to have more Dashi to my liking but everyone has different palate. (Lived many years in Japan, I am just used to the taste in Japan. ) I would try their Okazu section next. All looked good!

They have been around for a long time. They were rated one of the Top 5 places for Saimin around O'ahu. The staff treat you like ohana as if you just stopped by to eat. Great selection and of course I had the large saimin.it was perfect for an early dinner and was so filling. I also had a side of fried tofu.

I so missed eating shrimp tempura the way Sekiya's makes theirs. We went there on our first day of arriving on Oahu and spent another day picking up some more shrimp tempura

Went there after seeing ads on tv, friendly staff & flavorful food, wanted a fuller plate but was enough to feel me up. 4 stars because of the bathroom condition, could be cleaner.

As always some of the most nostalgic and delicious food! You gotta be patient with the service but it is as always beyond worth it!

Growing up in Hawai‘i you want the ‘local’ flavours. Saimin is a must, or Won Ton min. Old school style maki sushi is becoming harder and harder to find. Sekiya’s still does it right.
