Guava Smoked

Had a serious craving for some bbq. 1st time customer visiting their spot on Kalihi St. Got the spicy smoked meat and smoked chicken. Wasn't too spicy on the front end, the heat came after a short period of time. Nothing crazy. They use a brown and white rice mix, nostalgic of school cafeteria rice. To my suprise, this blows plain white rice. The balance of brown and white and stickiness of the rice, i've no doubt is a contributing factor to the success of the "Smoked" entrees they support.

It was delicious! One of the best meals in Hawaii so far. I got a double meat plate with half spicy and half regular smoked pork. The food was great and the service was great. Easily the best meal I have had so far in Hawaii. Don’t miss out on the spicy pepper relish near the utensil station! It goes so well with the pork and rice.

Good, quick plate lunch with a bunch of seating. The chicken is reliable. The green salad came with ranch, not vinaigrette as the menu says. My friends liked the beef stew and the butterfish collars. They have basic fountain sodas, with they had iced tea or fresh lemonade or something more interesting. Very minimal parking, 3 spots, but people are in and out pretty quickly.

If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out big time. Went there 3 times within a month. Their smoking sauce is so good. So far I've had smoked chicken, smoked duck, smoked kalbi, smoked salmon belly, smoked butterfish, and loco moco and they're all fresh and delicious. Drinks are refillable. Seating is wherever you prefer based on availability. There's a balcony seating area as well for those who prefer to sit outside and look over the Kapahulu street. The staff is super friendly and always serve with Aloha same crew on Wednesdays around 2pm-4pm. Can't wait for the next visit.

Just had lunch at this place. Super hidden gem. The guy running the front was chill and gave us some recommendations. We ended up ordering the smoked combo plate, with smoked pork and chicken. Yes yes yes!!! Omg it was the best we’ve ever had. The chicken was moist and had a great flavor. The pork was caramelized and juicy. Like yum!!! My mom got the chili…ehhhh was not good. Super super salty and kinda had a weird flavor to it. Not sure what was up with that. But the other food was amazing. Will Come back and try the fried rice next time.
