Addictive!
Modo inside Mitsuwa store in International Marketplace.
Saw this place was near our hotel so we went to try them. They have a lovely chewy texture and are shaped like many balls connected so they are easy to eat and share. Oreo cookie is definitely my families favourite. I enjoyed the lilikoi one as well. I agree with others that the matcha was a disappointment wish it had more flavour. Black sesame was also good. But all doughnuts were addictive and yummy.
We brought a dozen home to Canada.
I had trouble finding this hidden gem near closing time which made me too late to get the flavor I wanted but I came back the next day and they had plenty. So, it’s in the Mitsuwa Marketplace inside the International Marketplace in Waikiki. I loved these unique and tasty donuts! Best were the key lime and cookies and creme. The matcha was just okay, not enough matcha flavor and tasted bland. Other than that, they’re not overly sweet and so delicious, soft, and chewy. Will definitely be back on my next vacation!
This place is inside Mitsuwa Marketplace on the second floor. It is way in the back. Staff not really friendly, but still respectful. The best way to describe the donut is that they have a chew and bite to them. The flavors are pretty light. These would not be my favorite donuts though I wouldn't mind having them once in a while.
Fun little mochi doughnut shop located in Mitsuwa marketplace (all the way in the back left corner). They offer a variety of flavors, our favorite was the cookies and cream. The top of the doughnut is more of a icing/frosting consistency, and it is this layer that gives flavor to the doughnut. We tried every flavor available that day and cookies and cream was a top favorite. The icing/frosting is very light in flavor. I would recommend this place for a doughnut or two. I fell in love with mochi doughnuts from Liliha bakery, and I have to say those are still my all time favorite, but Modo doughnuts are a close second... and they give local discount with an ID!!!
The Lilikoi mochi donut is slightly chewy and perfectly pillowy. Intense passionfruit flavor but the glaze is a bit too sweet for my taste. Will try the black sesame next time.
The Modos were delicious, but the counter person wasn't very personable. It's inside a little market inside the International Marketplace. The lilikoi is in my opinion the best followed by the strawberry . GREAT FLAVOR that lingers on your taste buds.
We really loved the donuts. They have a very unique shape and texture. The flavors were delicious and unique. It can be a little hard to find because it is located within another store but there were plenty of signs to help us find our way.
Very tasty donuts: subtle flavours and not too sweet. Black sesame, matcha green tea and cookies&cream varieties were favourites. The coffee was good. The seating area which is shared with several food outlets is a good place.
Chewy donuts! Enjoyed passion fruit flavor the most. Cookie and cream was meh, not sure why that one was rated #1
Always a solid place to get some nice chewy mochi donuts. They are located inside the International Marketplace inside Mitsuwa Store. The lilikoi, matcha, black sesame, and cookies & cream are worth trying.
