The food is great the atmosphere is beautiful. If you get there as soon as they open, there's already a line waiting outside, but the restaurant is fairly large, so everyone gets a table right away. The service is quick and efficient. After you order, they will bring your order receipt to your table, and they mark off each dish as they arrive. Prices are average and definitely worth the money. My co-workers and I had only the day for a work trip but made sure to eat here as we heard it was worth the time, and I would have to agree.
It is one of my favorite Dim Sum place in Honolulu.
They used to have partitions around the table, so you couldn’t see much outside your enclosed area but now that they have removed the partition, you realize how big the restaurant space is!
There are many large tables for 8 - 10 people all are enjoying good dim sum. We were there early 11:30 am but majority of people were finishing.
Nothing fancy but energetic and fast service as you can expect in a big Chinese restaurants.
We ordered couple of items to goad it is always nice to have some left overs in the fridge.
So usually, on a Saturday, there's a wait, but for 2 of us, we were seated quickly on Saturday, May 13, 2023. Restaurant opens at 10:30. We got there at 10:50, taken inside, ordered and served 7 dishes including the snow mountain char siu ball. We ate look fun, choy sum, shrimp with chives... leisurely and was done in 45 minutes. Yummy experience. 😋
Local Favorite 😍 The service is amazing. So welcoming. family friendly and efficient. And the food was delicious. We were so hungry we skipped the pictures to satisfy our bellies 😋😁😅 Our experience was wonderful. Definitely recommend and will return in the near future.
Superb Chinese food. I love the Chicken the most. It’s magic! Never tasted anything like it. Tasted like crispy pork but it was chicken.dimsum are fantastic as well.
Seating took a bit longer than expected, at around 35 minutes compared to the originally estimated 25 minutes. Wish they had an online system to keep track so you don't have to stay right outside.
Food ordering was straight forward and service was attentive. Good and solid taste, and the baked bun was the highlight.
Very nice restaurant, excellent Dim Sum. Everything tasted good and the staff was very attentive. Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for good Dim Sum or Chinese food in general. Plenty of parking, best entry point is from the 4th floor parking area near target.
Update: Went in for the Chinese food, the food was just as good as the Dim Sum... Excellent. Had Egg drop soup, small serving is enough for two people. Salt & Pepper squid was really tasty, not spicy. Pan fried noodles with shrimp was made perfectly. Easily one of the best if not THE best Chinese restaurant I have eaten at.
Noise because it is so full of happy no longer hungry clientele. If you are near you owe it to have. Cross it off your bucket list. I am a chef and hands down. If they do this everyday.... they are the best I have had EVER! I love my local food. But in Honolulu...this just can't be beaten. Thank you .. I would definitely come again.
5 stars food, dim sum freshly made and served hot directly from the kitchen (not cooled down after circling the dining room in a push cart). 4 stars for service, which can be frustrating at times (but nice if you happen to get an attentive waiter like David). Prices are a little higher compared to Chinatown, probably due to higher Ala Moana rent.
Come early or make reservations if you don't want to wait. Great place for dim sum then walk it off around the giant mall :)
Update - we came back for dinner on a Sat night and the placed is already packed at 6pm. Be warned, part or all of the place may be booked for special events so call ahead if you really want to eat here on a particular Fri-Sun evening. Dinner menu is extensive and prices are what you might expect given its location, but not bad since portion size is fair to generous depending on the dish.
The steamed fish fillet, ham & mushroom was unexciting & one note flavor, we would not order it again. However, our favorite was the stir fried green beans with minced pork - best if you ask for extra spicy. This dish here is as good or better than the one I fell in love with having for the first time in Shanghai last year!
The fried tofu and eggplant dish is also pretty good, but better if you ask them to make it more spicy. "Spicy" for Chinese food is mild-medium for typical spicy dishes in SE Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam.
Yellow jacket waiter David (speaks English and Mandarin very well) is friendly and helpful.
We had a great lunch experience. The menu is quite sizable and there were a lot of good items to try. Servers were pretty quick and the food tasted great. This place is very low hygiene standards. The same server, after walking around and not even washing his hands, stuck his hand in the tank of crabs, and then walked it 25 yards back to the kitchen holding it while seafood tank water was dripping across all the restaurant carpets. Then he went on to handle other things with his hands it seemed. And when you then look at the carpeted flooring -you realize how filthy it is. This is what made it hard to enjoy the food - I just couldn't stomach it after realizing how disgusting the environment actually was.
