I usually go to Costco in Iwalei, but I happened to be in the area and needed to pick up a few small things, when I saw this amazing deal on a portable air conditioner. I may consider driving out to Hawaii Kai more often because this Costco was way less crowded and the parking was way easier to deal with than being in town.

What can I say about Costco that you don't know already? Love the deals on buying chopsticks by the thousands. Meats are good. Free samples are good. Deals on cookware are great. Always got parking. You won't die walking in the parking lot compared to other locations. Rarely any accidents due to the lack of gas station like the other locations. And for the bad drivers, the other Costcos got better deals for you.

I think all the staff at this location are friendly and attentive. The store is easy to navigate and not as congested as town. The parking lot is a good size and you can almost always find parking fairly quickly. The lines are not as long and can get in and out of the store withing 10 mins if grabbing one thing during the weekday. This Costco does not have a gas station.

Costco is the same nearly everywhere, with the exception of some local favorite items you do not find elsewhere. The prices between Costco in Hawaii and Costco in the mainland are pretty close. If you want to save some money on groceries, this is the place to shop. Costco gas is the cheapest on the island, but is not available at the Hawaii Kai Costco. It is a great place to grab a bite to eat. Where else can you fill kids up with pizza and a hot dog and drink for under $4? Love me some Costco time!

Great Costco with lots of offerings. Friendly staff, fast checkouts.

Free parking which can sometimes get full. Still prefer to go the extra couple miles to this location vs downtown Honolulu to avoid even bigger crowds and traffic. (Also convenient to stop there if we had a meal at nearby Kona Brewing, which is a favorite) Often best prices on Hawaiian snacks and chocolates like large bags of taro/potato chips and 6-packs of macadamia chocolates. Also go there for car service and using their nitrogen air pump for tires. Hot dog and drink deal is still the best.

It's as crazy as any other Costco on the island on the weekends. May want to shop on the weekdays if possible to avoid the parking and in store congestion. Halloween and Christmas decorations are out and you'll need to get here early if you have any plans on getting any. Looks like a few of the items were already sold out. Good luck Gang!

Jimmy at the tire shop was awesome. Friendly gent, thorough and helpful! $11 to patch my tire after I ran over a screw (tire not purchased through Costco… I believe its free if you had bought the tire from them). Mahalo Jimmy 🤙🏼

what experience today's shopping was!! I had a customer place twin pack cooking oil in my wagon and a Costco Hawaii Kai employee organizing the frozen section helped put a bag of frozen vegetables in my cart ... the little thing that I appreciate and tickles me. 😆
