I really liked the lamb burger, the mochi donuts, & the Hawaiian Sunset lemonade! Joan, the hostess was very helpful in providing a printout copy of their menu when I asked for a take out menu for Basalt.
Nice Ambiance, not too loud or over crowded! Good wine list at the restaurant, tasty food!
Went to this place 3 times so far to buy quick lunch/dinner items. They have lots of different ready made food options which I really liked. All the items that have rice in it, have the rice perfectly cooked!
I personally found this place to be very useful as you can find snacks, meals, hot/cold drinks, desserts, souvenirs, etc. Clean and organized store with awesome staff!!
This store actually has like several smaller shops in here.
There is the Spitfire Grill that has so many options ranging from Flatbread pizzas, Burgers, chicken of several types and even Poke.
If you are not looking for that, there is a little bakery there with a bunch of options to choose from, but they are kind of pricey.
Don't want that, there is an area that has stuff like coffee, Li Hing drinks, acai bowls, some pastry items and even some ice cream.
Not finding that to your liking, there is the sit down restaurant called Basalt. I did not try this but it seemed to be constantly busy.
Then there is the store itself. You can buy several items here. Need a drink, they have those. Need chips and snacks, they have those as well.
We stopped here a few times for few different things when we stayed close by on our Honolulu vacation.
We got couple of packed lunches from the market section for a picnic on the beach. The sandwich were good and tasty.
We also tried the bubble tea at chill. Their signature bubble tea is amazing. I have had it a few times since then.
They also have a bakery and couple more food places in the food court.
The convenience store aspect of it is adequate… no real difference from the ABCs in the area… BUT!! The hot food section was fantastic. If you’re Korean and /or like K food, the Kimchee Fried rice with egg and teriyaki pork was fantastic and filling. Very reasonless price too. Don’t get the packaged one… order freshly cooked plate. The Ube donut ball was the bomb also.
My family and I came several times on our vacation. The building is open concept and clean. The store workers are very friendly. The food service workers are not rude, but not exactly happy to see you either, but that's fine. My kids had the flat bread pizza a couple of times and my husband tried the Loco Moco. They all enjoyed it very much. You have to try to pineapple monkey bread, it's a little bit on the dry side for monkey bread, but it is so full of flavor, and so good!
According to all the locals, Dukes is the place to go
I went to Dukes on the recommendation of several local Hawaiians and I don't regret it. I ended up really having a good time. I met several tourists like me, as well as several current staff like Lilly who ended up helping me find great activities to spend my time on the island. Above all, Matt, was the best bartender, and he made sure I had the best night that I could. Best bartender I've ever had. I have no regrets whatsoever. 10/10 would drink again with Matt. To be clear, as there are two Matts, I mean the one from Oregon.
