A local friend recommended that we try this diner. They were right; it was worth a trip. The food was basic diner food and really tasty. I had the banana pancakes. They tasted a lot like bananas, were very moist and were really good. My husband had the omelet and like it too. It was very reasonably priced. Our total cost for two breakfasts was $25. It is definitely off the beaten path of downtown Waikiki area. We walked the mile and 1/2 to the diner. Not a bad walk. It definitely gives you a feel for the city.
Love it! Simple, humble and so darn heartwarming my partner and I came here 3 times during our recent one week stay in Hawaii. Tourists, you'll need to drive here from Waikiki or hop on the Ala Moana bus and walk down one block past Walmart. Totally worth it!
While the venue looks somewhat dated it's very spacious and comfy. Great place for quick service, good all-American hot food and cheap eats!
I've visited the USA three times from Australia and you can get your all-American fix here. Everything from homemade burgers, the BEST chilli cheese fries in HI, the good ol' grilled cheese, cherry pie and hotdogs. We tried a range of different smaller menu items and loved it!
Very down to Earth and friendly staff. Very well priced menu. They don't over capitalize on things or charge the tourist tax like many other places in the area do.
This is old styled dinner. You can eat the breakfast menu all day. Everything taste good. Don't forget to bring a jacket, because it's very cold inside.
I am visiting Waikiki and decided to take a break from the tourist mayhem by coming here. I really enjoyed it. I ordered the loco moco which was plentiful and delicious. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would definently recommend it.
Hawaiian fare at it's best. Friendly staff and ample portions. Definitely a recommended family restaurant for down home Hawaiian favorites!
Good place to eat. Lots of local people eat here and the menu is local hawaii favorites. Cost is between $10-$20 a person. Recommend the hamburger steak. This place is really known for its fried rice, gotta get it with 2 eggs and a side of Portuguese sausage. Very delicious. Also try the green river soda. Open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. Check this place out.
This place is an old faithful. Menu hasn't changed in years, and my go to is their loco moco. It's a bummer they aren't open 24 hours anymore, but at least they're open late on Friday and Saturday nights. Their pies are also delicious, so make sure to save room.
Like Like Drive Inn seems like one of the last old school sit down local hawaiian family dining restraunts. Like Columbia Inn or Flamingos it has a number of classic dishes served as complete meals with fruit cups, soup or salad and a desert. I especally like the hot turkey sandwich and hot roast beef sandwiches. The sandwiches smothered in gravy with mashed potatoes is delicious. Reminiscent of the old JC Pennys restaurant in Ala Moana. Although no longer open 24 hours, they still serve breakfast all day. Their pancakes are big and fluffy. A littke pricy, but worth visiting once in a while. Service has always been great!
Great service and huge portions...they had a royal hot dog (cheese stuffed, bacon wrapped, and deep fried)...how can something be so awesome and so bad at the same time! Had to try with a strawberry soda...where can u get strawberry soda from a fountain?! Likelike drive inn, that's where!
Service is always awesome whenever we are in town and the food is onolicious! We need more of these kind of restaurants
