We had a lovely first night dinner at Basalt. Our table was on the patio which is just off a little alley. On the recommendation of our server we both ordered the price fix dinner which was perfect. The wine list is a little limited but we found something nice that we enjoyed. Food arrived hot, service was very attentive and friendly. It was a great way to start our trip.

The setting is a little odd, inside the back of a food court, but our seat on the other side of the bar was a decent spot for 2. I was more a fan of the food than my wife, though we both enjoyed the mixed drinks and unique house bread equally. The prices were fair for the quality of food and presentation when compared to similar restaurants nearby. Our server Matt was excellent. It's been a while since we've had such an attentive and pleasant waiter. I would visit again to try their breakfast menu if we make it back to the island.

Being back in Hawaii and eating all my favorite foods. My husband wanted the prime rib hash and he rated it a 9/10. My son got the charcoal pancakes with eggs and bacon. He rated it 8/10. I got the basic breakfast which consist of eggs Portuguese sausage, potatoes and toast. I rate it a 8/10. The service was fantastic and everyone was really nice. The restaurant is very clean but if you sit in the patio, you must be prepared for the pigeons to be around. Fun place and great experience.

Food was good. Had the salmon eggs Benedict. Staff was friendly. The charcoal pancakes are a popular item to share for the table.

The menu is interesting with Hawaiian touches to a typical brunch. We tried the guava mimosa and the Bloody Mary. (The BM has a nice olive, cocktail onion on a swizzle toothpick and a solid kick (horseradish?) That’s a solid drink choice although it comes in a Tom Collins/Highball glass which is tall and thin. We ordered the avocado toast (thick Texas toast cut) slathered with lots of avocado, some spice and pickled? 🍅. Also got the veggie Benedict with spinach and tomato. Loved the soft poached egg that oozed when sliced into (check my photo). The hollandaise had a lemon-y leaning flavor which I appreciated. The home fry potatoes felt overcooked and/or sitting for awhile. Overall it was a good brunch.

Amazing food and our server Ben T was great! We had the Beef fries to start, wonderful! And for dinner we had the miso pork belly carbonara, Szechuan crispy fried half chicken. So impressed! Will be coming back!

A great place to take a significant partner on a date. There are a variety of food and alcohol choices. With the alcohol beverages the bartender was very heavy handed which was a plus. Our waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and we ordered their recommendation with no regret. A bit pricey but worth it. Definitely a restaurant I would visit again.

This is the best breakfast in Oahu! The coffee was excellent probably one of the best blends I've ever tasted. They were the only breakfast restaurant who could properly cook a over medium egg. And these black pancakes are to die for. Highly recommended!

We ordered: Black Sesame Crusted Ahi 8/10 Macadamia Nut Crusted Fish 10/10 Dark Chocolate Mousse with berries 100/10 Black Charcoal Bread 100/10 Max thank you for your excellent service. Will be back and will totally recommend! A bit pricey but it is worth it for such quality food. Wish it wasn’t connected to a grocery store but we sat outside so it felt nice 👍🏽

Basalt was a great breakfast choice! Their menu is a delightful blend of unique and delectable dishes. During my visit, I had their charcoal pancakes topped with a heavenly charcoal whipped cream and Guava sauce. A single order of pancakes was large and more than enough for two. The Portuguese sausage eggs Benedict was also an absolute delight for my taste buds. The ambiance at Basalt is modern and casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating options available. Although it can get quite busy, I assure you that it is well worth the wait. Basalt is a must-try!
